Lilac's P.O.V

Thump. Thump. Thump.

My heartbeat keeps in a steady rhythm as I watch Landon's face, which is displaying multiple emotions.

The silence drags on, making me anxious and uncomfortable. He continues to stare into my eyes, but he doesn't move or say anything.

Clearing my throat, I caress his face again. "Are you angry?" I force out.

His eyebrows furrow. "Oh, God, no! It's just... with this news of my father's pack getting attacked, having a baby right now is a bad idea," He replies.

A chill creeps up my body. "I'm so sorry, Landon! I was irresponsible with my birth control that morning in the bath tub," I ramble before taking in a deep breath. "It looks bad, like I deliberately did this without your permission, but I promise you it was all an accident." I look down, ashamed.

Tears once again begin to stream down my face before falling to my lap in big, salty droplets.

Landon's fingers comes up and dry my tears. "Shhh, Love. You're too beautiful to cry over something just as beautiful. A baby! Our baby," Landon swoons.

Shock fills me as I look up to meet his bright, golden eyes. They stare back into my eyes with happiness which allows me to relax. "Really?" I sniffle.

He nods. "I'm just relieved that it's not food poisoning or lunar fever, and I'm ashamed that I didn't piece the puzzle together." Landon laughs. "I feel stupid."

A giggle escapes me. "It's okay, the thought didn't even occur to me because of my birth control. It's ironic considering I've been pregnant before, and I should have noticed the signs." I frown.

Landon picks me up and takes my spot in the chair before placing me on his lap. "Tell me about the baby." He smiles.

I shift on his lap. "I'm seven weeks pregnant, and I'm pretty sure I have an ultrasound coming up. You can see the baby!" I squeal.

He smiles as I nuzzle my head into the crook of his  neck. "You and our children are my number one priority. If we're going too fast for you or your body, tell me because I'll chose you over our soon-to-be pack any day," He confesses.

I kiss him. "We can't tell Erik or Thanatos. Their mates already know, and hopefully they have enough sense to not tell them," I mutter under my breath angrily.

Landon pushes his nose into my neck and breathes in, his hand slipping under my large shirt to rest on my belly. "How did I miss this? You're basically already showing, your scent hasn't changed but it also isn't the same." He frowns.

His brown eyes look up into mine before he kisses me again, his hands slipping over my body. A soft moan escapes me when he bites down on my lip. "We'll make everything work, Lilac. I love you, and one fight won't stop me from loving you." He continues to caress my stomach.

And, as I look into his caramel eyes, I know that our relationship will be infinite and full of love.

Thanatos was clearly the one who could organize situations quickly under times of pressure, so Erik let him take control of the whole meeting.

"Right here—" Thanatos points to a spot on the map that's on the table in front of Landon and me. "—is where your pack land is. The pack house is represented by the large, green house and the family houses are represented by the small, red houses.

Landon pulls me into his side more, discreetly brushing his hand over my stomach. "When will we be going to the land?"

"In three days. We told your father to tally up the casualties and get his pack settled," Erik pipes up.
