Lilac's P.O.V
There's a circular table in Vincent's office, and that is where Landon and I have been meeting with Erik and Thanatos for the past three days. We've been planning on a way to keep the pack safe from the vampires.
I suggested that we converse with the vampires face-to-face somehow, but the idea quickly got shot down when Thanatos went into a rant about how barbaric vampires are and how they won't hesitate to kill me, despite the fact that I'm pregnant.
Landon had tensed after Thanatos said that. His eyes flashed amber for a short moment before returning to their chocolate brown eyes. "They'll have to kill me first," He had growled.
But, with little to no time for Landon and me, I've been forced to spend these last three days stressed out beyond belief. It scares me that I might hurt my unborn child, but I have no other choice.
My insomnia has calmed down due to the fact that I'm tired. So, of course, I was more than ecstatic to have a few hours with Landon and the babies before we meet up with Erik and Thanatos.
The babies are cuddled up with one another, their small mouths slightly open. Occasionally, one of them will stir, causing me to coax them back to sleep.
Landon, however, is kissing over my stomach while he's rubbing lotion over it.
"I don't need sleep, Lilac," He says playfully. "The fact that I get this special moment with you and our child is enough to power me through the weariness."
I giggle. "You're such a—" I stop abruptly when I feel a movement from inside me, and look Landon dead in the eyes. "Did you feel that?" I whisper.
A smile stretches across his face as he leans down to lay a chaste kiss on the spot where the baby kicked. "Yes!" He laughs happily.
Joy consumes me rapidly, and, eagerly, I kiss him. Our lips move together perfectly, our tongues mingle together erotically, and our hands run over one another's body.
"I love you," I say breathlessly.
Landon kisses me all over my face, making me giggle. "I love you so much." He then moves down to my stomach and does the same thing.
The smile that decorates my face is unmovable. How could I possibly not be smiling at a time like this?
My unborn child just kicked!
When Landon looks back up at me, there's a fire in his eyes, and it's burning profusely. There's hope and love burning in those eyes. "Lilac, you and I are going to be the best pack leaders we can be. Our love for one another will allow us to do amazing things." He closes his eyes as if he's in pain. "Promise me you won't view our love as a liability."
The look in his eyes breaks my heart, and, in an effort to make him feel better, I run my fingers through his hair and smile at him. "I promise."

Ophelia's gentle hand moves across my stomach in slow motions. She's rewarded with a single, weak, brief kick from the baby.
"Are you ready for us to try and unlock your gift again?" She asks seriously as she withdrawals her hand from my stomach.
A memory from this morning makes a surge of confidence and bravery course through me. "Yes," I answer boldly.
Ophelia nods her head, a pleased look on her regal face. "Let's get started then!"
Before I can stop her, she's grabbing my hand and pulling me off to do strange and unpredictable tasks that should allow me to find my gift.
