"Do my eyes deceive me?" Kc asked.
The doctor left the room.
"Sweetie?"
"Yes peaches?"
"Do you also see ms Mari Kaplan our boss standing there with flowers?"
"I sure do peaches."
"Come on in boss." Kc said with a smile. Mari blushed slightly and walked past Kc.
"How're you feeling?" She asked Shay.
"My back hurts. But other than that I'm swell." Shay said.
"I brought you some of my mom's special salads. She used to make me one when I was sad or hurting and I felt great after." Mari said.
"Thanks boss." Shay said and took the sandwich.
"And you Kc." Mari said setting down the flowers.
Kc looked to her left and right. "Oh lord. Call the doctor. Did the Mari Kaplan just call me Kc?!" She said jokingly.
"Shut up." Mari said and rolled her eyes with a small smile. "I just wanted to know how you were doing."
"I'm good now. Thanks boss." Kc said with a smile. She hugged the president. Mari was shocked.
"This is when you hug back boss. "
Mari patted Kc's back.
The taller girl let go.
"Thanks for stopping by Mari and for the nums." Shay said and rubbed her stomach.
"No problem." Mari said. "Kc. May I speak with you in the hallway?"
"Sure boss? But why in the-"
Mari gave Kc a look. Kc's mouth made an o.
"I'll be back babe." Kc said and the two walked out.
"There's news. Good, or bad." Kc said.
"He got arrested." Mari said as a smile grew on her face. Kc unknowingly picked the president up and spun her around with happiness. The two giggled.
"This is great!" Kc said. "But how?"
"When the fuzz was roaming the halls they looked through his office and found the pictures of me. They booked him faster than you could say microscope." Mari said
"That's adorable." Kc said with a smirk.
Mari blushed. "Your analogy and your expression. So cute. But hey no more creeps!"
Mari smiled and nodded.
"When will you be back at school?"
"Probably when Shay gets discharged."
"But how're you gonna get your." Mari noticed Kc's face. "Work."
"You see I was wondering if my new great friend would stop by and bring me my assignments." Kc said. "Please? I won't have an excuse."
"Fine."
"Thanks boss. You're the best." Kc said and pecked her on the cheek. "I better get back in there. So I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow." Mari said and looked into her eyes.
Kc smiled at her and walked back into the room.
"What was that about?"
"Mari's problem was officially solved today." Kc said.
"Oh. Good for her." Shay said.
"Yeah." Kc said.
"You. Here. Now." Shay said and made grabby hands at Kc.
"Yes ma'am." Kc said and climbed into the hospital bed.
"Shailene." Her mom said.
"Oh. Hey mom." Shay said.
"Hey Leslie." Kc said.
