Time skip to an hour before championship game
The team was practicing.
Mari sat and watched Emily but most of her focus was on Kc.
Emily was running the bases and twisted her ankle.
"Fuck!" Emily yelled out. Kc and Shay ran over to her and helped her off of the field.
Kc got her ice and sat her next to Mari.
"I wanna fucking play." Emily said.
"Emily. You are not getting back on that field." Mari said.
The other team showed up and started warming up.
"Hey! Go warm up on the other field!" Shay yelled.
"Our coach told us to start here."
"Do your eyes not work? You can obviously see us using it!" Emily said.
"Jackson! Calm down." Kc said. "You too Duncan. They're visiting. You know coach's rule."
"Fine." The two co captains said.
"Ladies. Move out." Kc said. "Kaplan. Grab your girl and move her to the benches."
"O-okay." Mari said and moved her.
"You know what we do. Come on ladies lets work." Kc said.
They finished warming up and their coach came back.
"Okay ladies. Let's set up a-"
"Already done coach." Shay said.
"We're finished." Kc said.
"Where's Jackson?"
"Bench." The team said.
"I'm okay coach." Emily said and ran.
"If you're gonna play you're gonna need a brace." Shay said.
Mari handed Emily one.
She put on the brace.
"Game starts in five minutes." Mari said.
"Okay."
"Huddle up." Shay said. "Alright ladies. This is the moment. This is our moment. We have worked way to hard to not succeed. And no matter what. Win or lose you're gonna make us proud."
"This is it ladies. Let's go out there and win this." Emily said.
The team ran to the other field.
Liz stood up and screamed at the top of her lungs.
"GO KC! WOOOOOO!"
Kc stepped up to pitch. She looked down at the ball and started to throw. She pretended to be thrown of balance and the crowd gasped. Kc 'regained' it, wound up from the end of the mound and released the ball. It flew at warp speed and the catcher behind the other girl fell backwards from the impact.
"Strike one." The umpire called out.
"YOU PITCH THAT KC!" Liz screamed.
Later Kc's team was up 29 to 10. There were only a few seconds left.
Emily walked up to bat and hit the ball. The girl guarding first base tripped her up and she fell on her ankle.
A buzzer went off.
"HEY!" Kc yelled. "DID YOU NOT FUCKING SEE THAT?!" She yelled at the ref.
The ref shrugged and Kc grabbed the bat.
"Kc. What're you-."
Kc hit the girl in the back of the head with the bat.
"HELL YEAH KC!" Liz yelled. Her mother looked up at her.
"Liz."
"You know you wanna cheer."
