Today is going to be heartbreaking. I've sold Maddie and she's going away t her new home in a few hours.
I brush her on the cross ties and silently cry into her mane. I walk to the front of her and brush her face, softly.
"I'm going to miss you, so much." I whimper. I wipe away my tears and bring Maddie to her paddock. I give Chex, April and Maddie their lunch, then go inside my house.
Mom is making some grilled cheese sandwiches. I sit next to her on the counter and stare out the window.
"Maddie's new owners will be here soon." mom says to me. I sigh. I get a grilled cheese sandwich, when Mom's done making them and eat in silence.
"I know that this is going to be hard for you," my mom starts to say, "But we can't afford Maddie right now."
"I know, but... It's just going to be so hard to see her go."
I see a truck and one horse trailer pull up in our driveway. It's Maddie's new owners. I put on a fake smile and go outside.
"Hi!" I say happily to a girl and her mother. I think the girls name is Julie. We go to get Maddie and load her into the trailer.
I'm so upset. Julie and her mom drive away with Maddie in her trailer. I go to get Chex and warm him up in the arena.
After he's warmed up, we go over some 2 foot jumps. I still can't stop thinking about Maddie, it just won't be the same without her.
