I've asked mom about Serena boarding at our barn and she's fine with it. Serena will come tomorrow, but today, is Smokes birthday. After getting changes into my black breeches and a maroon polo shirt, I go out to the barn to feed.
After feeding I decide what I'm going to do today. First off, I'll muck out the stalls and prepare one for Serena's horse named Prince. When that's done, I water all of the horses and put Chex and Maddie out.
I take Smoke out and start lunging him in the arena. He's so easy to lunge now. I've also been long-reigning with him. I'm going to put a saddle on him today. I grab my pink saddle pad and saddle, then put it on him.
When I send him off at a trot, he start to buck. I change direction to keep his mind off of it. He eventually calms down. He has a steady trot and barely even knows that the saddle's on him anymore.
I call him in and take the saddle off. He searches for a carrot and eventually pulls one out of my pocket. I laugh and rub his forehead. My mom comes out and takes my saddle and saddle pad away, while I put him in his stall.
"He seemed to do pretty well out there, considering it was his first time with a saddle on." mom says to me. I nod and go to bring Chex in. I groom him and tack him up for a trail ride. When I get on, he rears up.
When he stops, my mom is practically by my side trying to get me off. I refuse, although this is odd for him. "I don't know what's wrong." I say, "He's never acted like this."
Something was wrong. Maybe, he just needs to walk it out. I push him on along the trail. He's been jumping at everything, even a lizard. He never acts like this at all. I wonder what's wrong with him. He was fine this morning, when I put him out.
This cannot be good.
