I take Chex out of his stall and onto the crossties. I brush all of the dirt and shavings off of him, then clean his hoofs.
I brush out the tangles in his mane and tail then braid them, so he looks amazing. I put my saddle on his back. (After the saddle pad, of course.)
After putting my bridle on him, I take him out to the arena and set a jump up to three feet. I mount Chex and warm him up.
He's eyeing the jump the whole time. He goes into a cater, and as we approach the high obstacle it feels like the world is moving in slow motion.
He soars over it, making no mistakes at all. It was flawless. From the other side of the arena, I see my mom and wave at her.
"I bet you couldn't do that one more time." she teases me. I shoot her a cheeky smile nd push Chex into a canter.
When we approach the jump, it still feels like slow motion, but in a bad way. Only Chex slows down. The next thing I know, I'm falling down towards the jump.
My neck/ lower part of my head hit the bar and everything goes black. "Hailey!" I hear. It's just a faint echo, but it's there.
-------------------hours later----------------
I open my eyes. Everything is white. Soon my vision goes back to normal. I'm in a hospital. Mom is right beside my.
"Hey, baby girl." she says, "How're you feeling?"
"You mean besides just blacking out? I'm fine." I reply. Mom smiles at me. A small chuckle escapes her lips.
"Well, we know that your the same, sarcastic self." she comments. The doctor steps into the room. I hope I can get out of here soon.
