**Just realising how shit the names for these chapters are...if anyone has any better suggestions, PLEASE, let me know***

Once there was three empty mugs and an empty packet of chocolate biscuits, I had relayed my nightmare to them, albeit quietly and not exactly without crying.

Shane sat beside me the whole time and took over what used to be Logan's job of comforting me.

"It just seemed so real," I cried quietly.

"Babe, you know it wasn't. I'm right here." Shane said, picking me up and setting me on his lap. I leaned into his chest and his arms came around me.

Logan sat on the other bar stool across the breakfast bar.

"How long has this been going on?" Shane asked him.

"Well, before we left the pack house, she had nightmares every night for almost a year." He said.

Shane tensed. "A year, baby?"

I nodded without looking at him. I wanted to go back to that happy feeling upstairs, the tingling one that came with Shane's kisses.

"Why?" Shane asked gently.

I mumbled into his shirt. "It was where Dom was killed." I said quietly.

Shane shifted me around so that I would look at him. "You were there?" He said with a horrified expression. He was shaking and his eyes had started to change colour.

"I'd tried to talk him out of it, but he was determined to follow Sasha. Logan took me out of the room, but I only got as far as the next corridor before breaking down. I couldn't move. And then I heard the gunshot," I started crying again. "And the thud of my brothers body hitting the floor, before my father came out saying 'It's done'. My mind kept going over and over it. It wouldn't stop, all because I couldn't make it stop!" I sobbed.

Shane pulled me against his chest, and I buried my head in his neck breathing in his scent to calm myself. The tears still continued.

"Shh," Shane whispered in my ear, stroking my hair. "It's ok. It's not your fault."

"But what if it happens to us?" I sobbed quietly.

He pulled back and held my chin with his hand, making me look at him. "Lilly, you have to get over this. I am next in line to be Alpha to one of the strongest pack in the world. It's also one of the largest. There is no one that would be stupid enough to challenge me for you, and if they did, they could never win. I won't give you up without putting up a hell of a fight. Are we clear?"

I smiled at him and said playfully, "Yes, sir."

He laughed. "Now that that is sorted, can we go back to sleep?"

I looked at the clock on the oven. It was four thirty in the morning!

"Yeah Lil, you should probably go to bed. Remember, school in the morning!" Logan said with false cheer.

I groaned. "I don't want to go to school tomorrow."

Shane looked at me. "You have to go to school?" He whined.

I laughed. "I'm still seventeen Shane."

"So? Pull a sickie!" He suggested.

"Nope." Logan said, using his Beta command. "You're going to school, mate or not."

I sighed. When I'm Luna...

Shane growled. "What about the unmated wolves at this school? She will be in danger the entire day!"

I laid a hand on his arm and his eyes shifted back to normal.

"There are mated members of the pack in each of her classes, and Camron and I are both in the building. She will be safe." Logan replied coolly.

Shane said lowly, "If anyone lays a finger on her, its on your head."

I smacked his arm. "Enough! I was fine before I met you and I'll be fine now. Let's just go to sleep."

As we walked up the stairs I heard Logan say in my mind 'Don't think I don't know he's been staying in your room, missy.'

'I have no idea what you're talking about,' I replied, faking innocence.

I heard him laugh. 'If it was anyone else, I wouldn't allow it. But I can tell he respects you and won't take advantage of the situation, so I'll let him be. One wrong move though...'

I smiled to myself. Yay! 'Ok thanks Logan!' I said, before shutting off the mind link and climbing into bed.

"Logan says its ok for you to sleep in here." I told Shane cheerfully.

"He couldn't stop me." Shane replied.

I snuggled into him and his arms came around my waist.

"I've been thinking about tomorrow," Shane began. "I'm going to drive you to and from school each day. I don't want any arguments either. This is for my own peace of mind. Also, if you get into any trouble at all, you're going to contact me. Ok?"

There really was no point arguing. "Since there is only two weeks left of school, I'll agree to this."

I could tell he was smiling.

"Oh, I almost forgot." He said. "I'm taking you out tomorrow night. Like a proper first date."

I grinned. I have the perfect mate that every girl dreams of. "Sound good," I said sleepily.

'Goodnight babe' I heard Shane whisper in my mind as he kissed my cheek.

'Night,' I replied before drifting off to sleep.
