As I swam up and down the pool at the local leisure centre, I thought about all this stupidity. I wasn't allowed to wear my new bikini, I had to wear a one piece. Did Logan not realize how old these things were?!
"I know its 'out of fashion' Lilly." He'd sighed. "But I don't even know if your father would allow you to go swimming, let alone parade in a bikini and show off your markings."
I growled at him and stalked into the shop to buy a one-piece swimming suit. Ha, he shouldn't have let me do that if he was worried about people seeing my markings.
I chose a lilac suit with virtually no back and a low front, it showed off my Luna-status markings. Perfect.
When I came out of the changing rooms to enter the pool, I saw Logan give me a disapproving look from his lifeguard post. I gave him a dazzling smile in response.
Logan had managed to use some of his Beta persuasion to let the woman at the desk believe he was the next lifeguard on duty, just so he could keep an eye out from above whole Camron would be swimming alongside me.
When Camron saw me enter the pool he whistled low and gave me a high five. "Nice. Sticking it to the man?"
I grinned at him and nodded.
I had swam a few lengths when all of a sudden I felt a tingling sensation run over my right shoulder and chest. I stopped at the end of the pool and looked down to see what was wrong.
Strangely, my marks were starting to shimmer round the edges and were..starting to..change..
Shit!! That could only mean one thing. My mate was here!
I panicked. Searching frantically to find Camron when he came up beside me. "Lilly, was wrong?" He asked me worriedly.
"He's here. My mate found me and he's here."
He looked at me with a confused face. "Then why are you panicking? Is that not a good thing? I mean, who knows how long he's been looking for you!"
I shook my head, knowing he wouldn't understand.
'Logan,' I sent to him through the mind link. I saw him turn his attention to me. 'My marks have changed. He's here. The shit is about to hit the fan if he finds me. Oh god..'
'Its ok,' he replied, climbing down from his post. 'The water has masked your scent for now. Get out discreetly and go get changed.I'll meet you in the car. Go.'
I nodded. Knowing that Logan understood me not being ready for a mate now, if ever.
Climbing out of the pool, I walked alongside a group of girls about my age, hoping to blend in.
I sighed in relief as I made it to the changing room without some male coming after me and trying to grab me. They wouldn't realise this was as much to keep them safe as it was to stop myself from getting hurt.
Trying to put on your jeans while holding a towel up around your top half is harder than it sounds as I found out. I hate communal changing rooms! Is it so hard to get cubicles??
I hurriedly put everything into my bag and zipped it up as I dashed out of the changing room.
Running through the reception area, I was glancing over my shoulder when I felt a hand grasp my wrist. Thinking it was Logan, I prepared myself to shout at him for nearly giving me a heart attack. I wasn't prepared to turn around and see piercing blue eyes speckled with the silver of his wolf coming out. The one word he said to me stopped any words from forming in my mouth.
"Mate."
