Nathan responded immediately, if not exactly as our lips touched. There was no hesitation, no moment of uncertainty as our mouths met; it was a spur of the action sort of decision, one that required no thought and one that was based solely and only on the rush emotion of two hearts beating in sync. And God, it was perfect.
My hands left their perch around Nathan's neck and sunk into his hair as I felt the silkiness beneath my fingers. I almost pulled at the roots, in the effort to bring myself closer to him, to bring his body closer to mine.
His mouth was warm and inviting, his tongue hot against my own. I pushed myself into him, feeling his arms tighten around my waist, his fingers lifting the edges of my shirt upwards, teasing the sides of my bare skin. I almost shivered at the intense excitement that penetrated my body when I felt his rough fingers graze my cool skin. I was enjoying this far too much.
His lips left mine temporarily as they trailed their way down my neck, leaving warm kisses down to my collarbone. My breathing was growing more ragged, the excitement pulsing at my skin, down to my bones. I could only think of just how right it all felt, how right this all felt.
And then his mouth was back on mine. I wasted no time in plunging back into that kiss, my arms weaving their way back down to around his neck. I could feel one of Nathan's hands snake down my waist and grab the back of my thigh, lifting it up ever so slightly. My leg was hitched just a bit around Nathan, as I pushed myself into him, amazing myself at the sparks of excitement that I felt as we sank further into one another. Oh jeez, was that a slight bulge in his pants that I was feeling? I didn't even know; all I could feel and all I could sense was the growing urgency with which we were both—
"Ahem." It was so quiet at first that the cough was repeated, louder this time.
My first instinct as I heard that interruption was to feel disoriented and more than a bit pissed off at whoever had come.
But when I turned around and made eye contact with my economics teacher, the only thing I could think of was along the lines of oh shit oh shit as I hastily untangled myself from Nathan's warm hold.
I jumped back, adding more than a few feet between me and Nathan, as if in an attempt to convince my teacher otherwise of what her own eyes were saying.
If there was anything more embarrassing that being caught like that, than I didn't want to know what it was. I was at a point where speaking was just physically impossible, so I snuck a gaze at Nathan during this moment of silence.
He looked, well, obviously, good, for someone who had just been making out and had been caught. His hair was ruffled up a bit, but the thing I noticed chiefly was that his cheeks were a bit puffed out, like he was trying not to laugh. He wanted to laugh? What the hell was so hilarious about this?
"I was under the impression this was an urgent family meeting," began my teacher, looking with a suspicious and almost uncertain gaze between the two of us. She was holding a stack of papers beneath her arm, looking as though she were about to go copy something. Of course. What opportune timing, I thought to myself.
I was in no shape to speak, so Nathan took the liberty to talk on my behalf. He cleared his throat once. "It is, of course," he said curtly, as though talking to my teacher was wasting more of his time. "We were just about to go, if you'll excuse us."
He grabbed my arm. I didn't have to think twice about this, wasting no time in bounding after him. I didn't know, and nor did I want to know, what my teacher had to say next. My cheeks were beyond on fire, dammit, they were seriously giving the sun a run for its money in terms of emitted heat at that point.
