Chapter 11

Mia's P.O.V
I was at work, and we were pretty busy today. Customers had been in and out all day, not giving me a chance to talk to Maddie.

It was a little after one, and things had started to slow down. I was at the counter when Maddie came up, and leaned against the counter yawning.

"I'm so tired." She said. We had been here since 8, and like I said it had been nonstop all morning.

"I know me to, I didn't sleep good last night." I said.

"Are you.." Before Maddie could finish her sentence her eyes widened.

"What are you-."

"Is that Louis?" She asked. I turned around to see Louis walking up towards the building with 4 other guys. I quickly turned around.

"Please, don't make me serve him." I begged her with wide eyes. Maddie got an evil smirk on her face.

"Have fun!" She said walking away to check on a customer. I took a deep breath and walked over to his table. I kept my eyes on my notepad, while I started talking.

"Hi I'm Mia, and I'll be your waitress. Can I start you off with anything to drink?" I asked them. They each ordered their drink, and I could feel Louis eyes on me while they each ordered. When Louis ordered I just took a quick glance up and then wrote down his drink.

"Ok I'll be right back with those." I said with a smile before walking away from them. I went to the pop dispenser, and started getting their drinks.

"Way to be awkward." I turned and saw Maddie standing next to me.

"Shut up!" I said. She started laughing while I shook my head.

"Just so you know him and his friends are staring a hole through you right now." Maddie said. Louis was only a couple tables away from the pop dispenser, so he had a perfect view of me.

I turned around and took the drinks over to Louis table. When I set them down I made eye contact with Louis, and he sent me a small smile. I smiled back making sure, to not make anything more awkward.

"Do you guys need a couple more minutes to look over the menu?" I asked them.

A couple of the boys with Louis said they needed more time to order, so I walked over to Maddie who was on her phone.

"I just want to go home." I sighed putting my head in my hands. I picked up a couple more hours at work, and I had been exhausted lately.

Maddie sighed,"only like 30 more minutes." She said patting my back and walking away. I looked up and made eye contact with Louis. My cheeks turned red and I immediately looked away.

After a couple more minutes, I walked over to Louis table.

"Ok what can I get you guys?" I asked them. They each placed their orders and I took the menus from them. I was getting ready to walk away when, one of Louis friends spoke up.

"Do you know Louis?" He asked.

"Um yea, I'm friends with Niall so we've met before." I told him. I looked at Louis and he was glaring at his friend.

"Oh, Louis you weren't lying you do know her!" He said laughing. Louis gave him a look telling him to shut up. I gave them an awkward smile and walked away.
I was typing in there order which was right next to there table, so at least I knew they weren't talking about me.

"Hey will you put this in?" I turned to see Maddie holding out an order.

"Yea," I took her order and began typing. When I was done I put there menus back, and walked over to the front next to Maddie.

"Has Lou said anything to you?" She asked me.

"No not really. He just gave me a small smile but that's it." I said. Maddie nodded her head, and went back to work. I went on my phone and scrolled through Twitter to past time.

I went to check to see if Louis food was done. When I saw it was I loaded it up on a tray, and took it to Lou's table. I sat it down in front of them, and then asked if they needed refills. Louis friend gave me his empty cup. I took it back and filled it up. When I was done I took it back setting it down in front of them.

"Is there anything else you guys need?" I asked them. They all shook there heads no, and I walked back to the front desk. I got their receipt printed out, and took it over to them.

"Here's your receipt for when you're ready." I told them.

"Can I have a refill please?" Louis asked me.

"Yea, I'll be right back." I said taking it back to be filled up. I dropped it off and saw the boys had already devoured their food, and they already had the debit card with the receipt. I took the card and ran it through the cash register before taking it back to them.

"Ok here's your card back, along with your receipt. Have a good day." I told them smiling before walking away. They got up and left and I sighed in relief before, clearing of the table and wiping it off.

"Hey I'm gonna go," I told Maddie.

"Ok see you later." She said waving.

I started walking home, and about in 15 minutes I made it home. I was walking up the stairs when I stopped in shock.

"Louis?" I asked. Louis was leaning against my door, and stood up straight when I said his name.

"Hey," he said.

"Hi." I said awkwardly.

"I'm sorry to just show up like this, but I really wanted to talk to you." Louis said putting his hands in his pockets.

"Ok...well come on in." I said unlocking my door and walking in, with Louis following me.

I took of my shoes, along with my bag, and waited for Louis to start talking.

"Listen I just wanted to say sorry, for leaving without giving you an explanation the other night." Louis said. I kept my head looking down at my feet.

"Why did you leave?" I asked Louis.

He sighed," I- I didn't want to wake up then you say you regretted that night. I know it sounds like a stupid excuse, but I was afraid to see how you would react the next morning." Louis said running his hands through his hair.

"I didn't, and still don't regret that night." I said quietly, but he could still hear me.

"I honestly regret leaving. I wish I hadn't, but-. Look my last relationship didn't end the best, and I don't want to go through that again." Louis said looking at his hands. What he said reminded me of what Liam had said to me that one night.

"Lou? Do you like me?" I asked him. I honestly surprised myself for coming straight out and saying that.

"Honestly, yea I do." He said. My heart started beating faster. I told myself to just tell him that I liked him to.

"Do you like me?" Louis asked looking up for the first time since we started talking.

"Yea, I do." I told him. You could see Louis lips starting to spread out in a smile.

"Look I know what I did was wrong. I should have talked to you if I was worried about something. Do you think we can try again, like start over?" Louis asked, looking at me with hopeful eyes.

"Yea, I'd like that." I told him.

"But where does that leave us?" I asked him.

"Well I was hoping I could take you somewhere. Like a date?" Louis asked me. I nodded with a smile.

"Ok well I have to go, but I'll text you later. I promised Liam I would help him with a new song." Louis said while standing up. I followed him to the door.

"Thank you again for giving me another chance." Louis said. I smiled at him.

"Thank you for coming over and explaining everything." I told him.

"No problem. I gotta go but I'll talk to you soon." He kissed my cheek, and told me bye.

"Bye," I said giving a small wave and shutting my door.
