The Flash: Lost...

Chapter XIV

Wenn furrows her brow, processing all this information. Then her eyes shoot up to his,
"Time travel..." She whispers
"Oh my god! You can travel through time?!?!"
He laughs, "Yes, yes I can."
"Of course!! You move so quickly it allows you manipulate time! That is friggen awesome!"
Her eyes gleam with excitement.
He rubs the back of his neck and chuckles at her excitement.
"Yes, it kinda is" He smiles.
"Sorry, sorry, I know you aren't finished, go on."

"Well... It get's a bit complicated from that day on."
He proceeds to tell her about the Reverse Flash, who he turned out to be, the speedforce, going to the past to save his mom and ending with Eddie killing himself in order to wipe Wells from existence and the black hole.
He swallows away his tears.

"If I would have been faster, stronger then I would have stopped Wells and Eddie would still be..."
"Hey, no! That is not true. Eddie was a grown man, very capable of making his own decisions, and what a decision! It mad him a real her...
Ooooow..."
Things start to fall in to place for her.
"You think because Eddie stopped one man from wrecking havoc up and down time that you don't deserve to be praised for what you have done?!"
She looks at him as he gets up and walks towards the window.
"Barry, you had been saving people for months already, with no regards for your own life. Not to mention stopped the friggen black hole he created from swallowing the city and probably the earth if not the whole of existence!"
He turns to her.
"Wait, what now? Who did you say created the black hole?" He asks

"Eddie!"
He looks at her, baffled.

"Look," She goes over to him, guides him to the couch and sits them down.
"You went back in time to save your mom. But you didn't, so when you returned to this time it was still as it was, since you didn't change anything."

He nods,

"But Eddie's death caused Wells, or whomever the hell he was, from ever getting born, meaning...."
She sees the moment it clicks in his mind.

"Oh my god! None of this basically took place, cause he was never born! Meaning this timeline shouldn't even exist!"
"Exactly! I've read up on time-travel when I was in college. It's a fascinating thing. Alternate timelines, even alternate universes, amazing theories written up by scientists going all the way back to Albert Einstein. But... tampering with it, Barry, I don't think is such a good idea." She tells him.

"The first time I did it, it was by accident. I ran back a day. Nothing major happened. I actually stopped a tsunami from destroying the city." He says.
"Yeah, a day, it doesn't have major consequences. But 15 years of decisions and actions that took lives in certain directions, changing that... It probably rocked the universe off its axis. And I'm not sure it would have been just this timeline that would have been erased not to mention what effect it would have on all those different timelines..."

His head flies up,
"THAT'S why future me stopped me, he KNEW I would be there, stopping the Reverse Flash. And he knew what would happen if I had succeeded in saving mom...because he already did. He wasn't just there to save younger me, he was also there to STOP me from saving mom!"
"Something really terrible must have happened for you to sacrifice your mom like that..." Wenn states
 "Yeah... But man, we are basically living a paradox! I wonder what it is that happened?" Barry wonders.
"I guess we'll never know. Reverse Flash is gone and don't you go running around in this, this Speedforce thing to find out! It is too dangerous!"

"Gone... Am I really gone, Barry? Are you absolutely sure of that." Wells' voice creeps in to his mind again.

"Go.a-way" He snaps
Wenn notices his eyes go distant.

"Is it him? The Reverse Flash you keep hearing?"
Her voice snaps him out of it.
"He's everywhere, all the time." He whispers.

"It's not him, it's your mind playing tricks on you." She tells him.

"I know, but I can't make it stop, he... it just pops up and plays on every doubt, every insecurity weighing on my mind."

"And you think 'he' is right." She states.
"Yes, no, I don't know..." He let's his head fall back on the couch.

"You need to beat him."

He turns his head to look at her.
"You didn't the first time, not because you weren't strong or fast enough, but because Eddie beat you to it."

"He had me on the ropes, Wenn, if Eddie hadn't..."
"You were, you are stronger than him." She tells him
He snorts sarcastically, "He supercharged himself, he was faster than me, you have no idea how strong he was."

"I think I do."
