"I think I'm going to turn in for the night..."
"See you in the morning, Mom."
"You're the one who prosecuted the case of Bal Gam, correct?"
"W-what of it?!"
"You... Look at what you did!"
"I merely put a criminal in their place!"
"Somebody important to me! So you'll die for it!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
//November 1, 2029. Morix Law Office, 9:38 AM//
"I'm boooooooooooored!" I whined as I hung upside down on the couch. The hair covering up my right eye (please say that nobody notices that stupid scar thing over it!) fell down along with the rest of my black and white locks.
"You and me both. I would go out and do some OOTL stuff, but I don't think I want to almost die today," Chrysalis told me, fiddling with her fingers in her boredom.
"If you don't mind me asking," Niamh began. "What happened with your eye, Yuri?"
I sat up to see Chrysalis biting her lip. I wonder what's up... You know, other than Lily's new boyfriend.
"I don't really know," I answered truthfully. "It's kind of always been there."
"I wish I knew what happened with it," Chrysalis said, sinking into her Magatama (how one does that is beyond me).
But the striking thing is that I could tell she was lying.
"I find that hard to believe," I told her, giving her the evil eye. "You must know something!"
The doors burst open to show two people. I sat up and stared at the duo in confusion. They looked far too... Satisfied... To have a case for us.
The first person was a woman, probably in her twenties. She had brown hair that reached her elbows. The tips faded to blue and purple. She had a black jacket on over a blue shirt. She also had white jeans on with a purple scarf wrapped tightly around her neck.
The other person was a man. He had camel blonde hair. His hair also faded to purple and blue. He had a black unbuttoned coat on as well, though his was over a pair of white jeans and a blue shirt. He had a purple piece of fabric tied around his neck. He had black shoes on. Both had pretty whacked up eyes. One eye was purple and the other was blue for them both. I know the crazy of having two different eye colors, believe me.
The man approached us coolly, hands tucked in his pockets. His serious gaze was enough to give any girl a nosebleed. I could feel one coming on... HOLD IT IN, RINKO.
"You three work here?" the man asked. His voice was monotone. How anybody does that is beyond me.
"Yeah. Why?" Chrysalis asked, clearly happy to be saved from the previous subject. "What does it matter?" She seemed pretty defensive, even for a lawyer student... Er, a fake lawyer.
"Prosecutor Anthony Umber and Detective Abilene Umber. Pleasure to make your acquaintance," the girl smiled, bowing her head slightly. "Who are you three?"
"Niamh Tenniswood, attorney at law," Niamh began. "And this is Yuri Rinko and Chrysalis Starr, the legal assistants here."
Chrysalis shuffled close to me. "Please tell me that these two can't see through lies," she whispered to me.
"I hope it for the sake of us all," I agreed.
"What do you to wish to do with the three of us?" Niamh questioned, remaining on topic.
"You'll have to come with us," Detective Umber told us. "For questioning."
"W-what?!" Chrysalis exclaimed, eyes as wide as saucers.
If hers were as wide as saucers, mine were the teacups on top. "Why?!" I roared in pure confusion.
"There has been a crime, and we must question you all to see if one of you is the culprit," Prosecutor Umber told us in his hot as heck voice. It sounded so beautiful... I bet that if he sang, he'd even give Prosecutor Lin a run for her money.
"Where was the crime?" Niamh asked.
"Umber Mansion," Detective Umber answered. "Our home."
"U-Umber Mansion?!" Niamh gasped.
"You okay?" Chrysalis questioned. "You look rather pale..."
Niamh's face was as white as a sheet. "That's where I was last night...!"
"Hwaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!" I think I know where Chrysalis got that from. A certain serial killer that goes to our school.
"Just make this easier for all of us and come along," Prosecutor Umber demanded, his arms crossed.
Niamh hesitated before nodding. "Alright."
//November 1, 2029. Detention Center, 12:09 PM//
A few hours later, I met up with Chrysalis at the entrance to the detention center. She had beat me there. "That happened," Chrysalis muttered, her arms crossed.
"Yeah," I nodded. My brain had practically turned to mush after that whole questioning thing. I didn't know a thing, but Prosecutor Umber just kept on pushing me to say something! He even said something about the Chief of Detectives at one point, which confused me further. Prosecutor Umber called somebody halfway through and his conversation was with Detective Umber, who he addressed as 'sis.' I just blocked out the chat, not wanting to think of Venus and Cassidy now of all times.
"Where's Niamh?" Chrysalis questioned, snapping me from my recollection festival.
"I don't know," I replied.
"Detective Umber let me out early to go talk with her. I haven't heard anything from either of them since," Chrysalis told me.
A few seconds later, a uniformed dude walked up to Chrysalis and I. He saluted before speaking. "I take it that you wish to speak with the suspect," he said.
"Suspect?" Chrysalis asked.
"The suspect of the murder at Umber Mansion. She said that you knew her," the officer continued.
"Who is this suspect?" I questioned. I had a deep bit of 'I think I know who it is' deep in my stomach, but I tried to brush it off.
The officer saluted us again. "Niamh Tenniswood."

Obvious plot twists are obvious.
I've been telling myself to type for the past two days geez Dij just do it.
I'm so excited to get to case 3. You don't even know it's such a great case. I love it.
And for the sake of references, the victim's name is Saya Ka. People who get it get a cookie. And if not, take candy.
I should seriously stop talking about the next case.
About this case: the witness is a loon. I think you meet her next chapter. She's so crazy you don't even know. She meets Lily and Chrysalis by fRICKIN TACKLING CHRYSALIS MY GOSH.
I will stop now since I know nobody wants my ranting.
