WITNESS TESTIMONY: ABILENE UMBER- DETAILS ON THE CRIME

-Like already stated, crime was a couple days ago in the evening.

-Victim was stabbed and died instantly.

-The defendant had a clear motive...

-...So we arrested her with the motive of jealously.

"Ms. Tenniswood, your cross-examination?" the judge asked.

Niamh nodded. "Okay then."

CROSS-EXAMINATION: ABILENE UMBER- DETAILS ON THE CRIME

-Like already stated, crime was a couple days ago in the evening.

-Victim was stabbed and died instantly.

-The defendant had a clear motive...

-...So we arrested her with the motive of jealously.

"OBJECTION!"

Niamh smirked and crossed her arms. "Now, allow me to show why that isn't correct."

"It's not?" Detective Umber asked, gasping in shock. I get the feeling that she's easily swayed by opinions.

"A simply psychological examination of the defendant could show whether she was truly jealous of the victim!" Niamh exclaimed. "Ms. Starr?"

"I wasn't jealous of Saya. The end," Chrysalis said simply, crossing her arms.

"My ears show this to be truthful, therefore your so called 'motive' was really nothing more than a false statement forged to arrest a suspect!" Niamh shouted, finger pointing at the witness stand.

Prosecutor Bloom clearly didn't like the way that this was going (or maybe she did, but she was acting so it seemed like she didn't. She was close with the defendant, after all). "I wish to call my next witness," she announced.

The judge nodded. "Go right ahead."

"I call Shane Carmen to the witness stand!" Prosecutor Bloom yelled.

Shane came up to the witness stand, a frown on his face. He looked around nervously. I suppose he wasn't used to testifying in court.

"Witness. State your name and occupation," Prosecutor Bloom instructed.

"S-Shane C-Carmen. I-I'm a high school s-student who was playing one o-of the leads in the p-play," Shane answered nervously. He looked to Chrysalis for support, who shot him a supportive thumbs up.

"Please testify about what you saw the night of the crime," Prosecutor Bloom told him.

Shane continued to glance around nervously before nodding. "O-Okay."

WITNESS TESTIMONY: SHANE CARMEN- THE CRIME

-I w-was finishing putting o-on my makeup when I-I heard a scream!

-I ran out o-of the room a-and followed my e-ears into the girls' restroom.

-When I-I opened the doors, I was I-in for quite a s-shock!

-C-Chrysalis was standing over t-the corpse! But I k-know that she didn't do i-it!

"T-That's all," Shane finished. He began to twiddle his thumbs in an attempt to distract himself from the trial at hand.

"Ms. Tenniswood. Please begin your cross-examination," the judge demanded.

"I'm already on it," Niamh said with a nod.
