WITNESS TESTIMONY: ANTHONY UMBER- DETAILS ON THE SHOOTINGS
-The crime was two days ago.
-Two people, the defendant and the victim, were shot in the shoulder.
-The defendant's motive was to kill the person who made her father leave.
-With no others there but the witness, the one who called the police...
-...The defendant is the only one who could have done it.
-We believe that the defendant only shot herself to drive suspicion away.
"Start your cross-examination so I can leave already," Prosecutor Umber demanded, rolling his eyes, crossing his arms, and tapping his foot.
And I thought the paradox twins had sass.
"The court does not appreciate the witness' attitude, though the defense may begin their cross-examination," the judge said.
"I'll be getting right on it, My Lord," I nodded.

"OBJECTION!"
"It would make no sense for the defendant to have 'shot herself' for this reason!" I exclaimed, a smirk rising on my lips. "Because if it was really the defendant, she would have run from the scene of her crime!"
"OBJECTION!"
"The defendant was in a smash car! She couldn't escape!" Prosecutor Moody, obviously triumphant at thinking she had shot down my theory.
"OBJECTION!"
"The car was only smashed down the center! The defendant could have easily run out the passenger door!" I retorted, getting fiercer and more fired up by the second.
Prosecutor Moody was clearly flustered and dissatisfied things weren't going her way. "The prosecution wishes to call its next witness," she muttered, her face pale. Maybe things were going my way right from the start for once.
"Go right ahead then," the judge nodded.
"The prosecution calls Estella Cignus to the witness stand!" Prosecutor Moody yelled, pointing at the stand powerfully.
Estella trotted up to the witness stand. She popped her leather jacket (which was no longer stained with blood from the last time she appeared in court. Estella shot me a curious glance, asking where Chrysalis was with her brown eyes. I shrugged in reply. I hadn't seen Chrysalis since she ran off to investigate the day before.
"Witness. You know what I want," Prosecutor Moody frowned. She and Prosecutor Moody must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Seriously.
"Estella Cignus. I'm a college student studying to be a forensic scientist," Estella answered. "Though I suppose my occupation now is 'crime witness'."
It took just one glance from Prosecutor Moody to shut her up.
"I remember you!" My Lord suddenly gasped. "Weren't you a witness a short while ago?"
