"Anyways, I hit Tenniswood and Starr before leaving. I didn't show up again until today. That enough explanation for all of you insignificant fools?" Detective Chief Rinko finished.

"The witness will not address the court as foolish!" the judge yelled. "As a legal figure yourself, you should understand this!"

"I'm not a legal figure. I'm the physical manifestation of a legal figure's darkest fear," Detective Chief Rinko replied. "Said fear being that the final living Rinko heir will fall in battle."

"Would you just get our already? You've tied up all of the loose ends on this case with the victim, so it's about time you left," Prosecutor Bloom growled, looking ready to strangle him if she could.

"I bet you want to talk to my host about all of this, so I'll leave." He shot a shifty glance at Prosecutor Bloom with a small smirk. "Besides, as thrilling as having a neck in my hands is, I"m not so keen on mine being in another's hands, namely Prosecutor Bloom's."

It took Anton's soothing whispers to calm the violent anger of Prosecutor Bloom. "Polly... D-don't listen to him... H-he's just a b-big m-meanie..." he told her quietly.

"F-fine," Prosecutor Bloom finally huffed after a few seconds of Anton's stroking her arm. "Just get out of here and get the real Detective Chief back here."

Detective Chief Rinko nodded and closed his eyes. When he opened them, his gaze was less icy and more sympathetic. "What happened...?"

"That much is a long story," Ms. Starr muttered, touching her neck gently.

"There is one thing I wish for you to tell the court before the judge announces the verdict," I told him.

"A-alright..." Detective Chief Rinko frowned, clearly confused about something. I suppose I would have to assist in explaining the midnight discord concept to him after this was over.

"Please explain how you are related to my partner here in full detail," I said.

Detective Chief Rinko's gaze slowly shifted to Yuri. "I haven't gotten the chance to tell you much you've grown since we last met, Yuri Eve... Fifteen years since I've properly seen you." A small smile formed on his lips as his eyes became fogged with tears. "I must say, you've turned into quite the young woman."

Yuri was biting back tears when I glanced her direction. "Venus... Cass... Are you seeing this...? Dad... He's back..." she whispered, hugging herself. "We didn't see him again together, but... He's back..."

"Witness, please explain so I may announce my verdict," the judge instructed.

"Alright... A long time ago, I became the Chief of Detectives... Twenty or so years now. I fell inn love with a prosecutor, Callie Umber. We got married and had two kids, twins Abilene and Anthony," Detective Chief Rinko explained. "Eventually, I was moved on business, though we couldn't leave with the children. Callie and I divorced so she could raise the children at home and not have to deal with the long distance relationship."

"She barely told us about you... Why...?" I heard Detective Umber whisper.

"My job is dangerous. I didn't want that to spread to my family, which is yet another reason for me to leave," Detective Chief Rinko replied. "Five years later... I fell in love with yet another woman... Tatiana Cascade. We also got married and had children, three daughters, to be precise. Venus, the eldest, Cassidy, the middle child, and Yuri Eve, the youngest. We eventually split due to the danger of my job reaching its peak with Yuri getting shot at while being held by Tatiana."

Yuri's hands flew to her head. "I... When I got my scar... I heard a whisper... 'This should call old daddy back...' That was about this, wasn't it?"

Detective Chief Rinko nodded. "GC-9... I heard of that case... When you were scarred by a knife blade and one of the most dangerous legal actions got its start. The Oracle of the Law project ignited from that project."

"That would explain why Chrysalis knows about where my scar came from and I don't: she was there and I'm apparently suffering from some sort of amnesia," Yuri whispered.

"After the UC-1 incident and you were shot it, I did what I could to make sure that you were kept safe along with your sisters because your mother was under the influence of poverty. I contacted somebody I'm sure you're familiar with and told them to keep an eye on you: Prosecutor Hana Bullgard," Detective Chief Rinko continued. "I also got Detective Abbie Mills in on it."

"Prosecutor Bullgard...?! Detective Mills...?!" Yuri hissed at me. "So that's why Prosecutor Bullgard was the prosecutor on my father's trial! And why Detective Mills wasn't the one who arrested me for murder back during my first case!"

"However, Hana and Abbie were unable to keep your sisters from getting killed. I only tightened my guard and made sure Prosecutor Deirdre Moody assisted as well afterwards. You may have not noticed, but they always look for you in the gallery of a trial your agency is on to make sure you're alright," Detective Chief Rinko said next.

"Venus and Cassidy... Not only were they thought to be or be related to the Oracle of the Law, but they could also have been killed because of their relations to my dad..." Yuri murmured.

"I kept my eye on you, though RB-7 worried me. I was afraid you would end up in trouble. And upon discovering that your sister was involved with evidence forgeries and worked at Morix Law Offices, I couldn't help but become afraid that could place you in more danger," Detective Chief Rinko told her.

"That fear must have been what caused midnight discord to form," I realized. "The fear that Yuri's life would be placed in danger because of the agency..."

"Plus, your agency was already high up on the killer target list, evident from all the times your employees were arrested, even infiltrated by that Bal Gam man," Detective Chief Rinko continued. "My fear towards the people who could hurt you and the anger to those who did must have taken over at some points in time, as there are gaps in my memory."

If only he knew how accurate those words were.
