Part-56: Married to Namjoon

The wedding hall had become eerily quiet.

Only a few moments ago it had been filled with guests, music, and conversations celebrating what was supposed to be the union of Kim Taehyung and Kim Seokjin.

Now, the silence hanging beneath the crystal chandeliers felt almost oppressive. Servants quietly cleared broken flower arrangements and overturned chairs while the last of the guests slipped out through the grand doors, careful not to meet anyone's eyes.

The white petals that had once symbolized celebration now lay scattered across the marble floor like remnants of a funeral.

Lady Hyuna stood near the altar. Along with her brother Mr. Gyu and his daughter Lucy.

Hyuna's sharp eyes slowly settled on Jin. There wasn't an ounce of warmth in her expression.

She had never liked the boy. Wondering what exactly her biological and adopted son saw in him.

Jin wasn't born into immense wealth. He carried no political influence. He wasn't someone who commanded fear or respect with his name alone. Yet somehow, first Namjoon and then Taehyung had become hopelessly devoted to him.

It was ridiculous to even think about. She hated everything happening in front of her eyes.

"Young men these days doesn't know how to survive. See a beautiful face and hound them all around." she thought bitterly to herself.

They mistook obsession for love far too easily.

His son could have easily manipulated Tae by using his weakness. But he chose the weakness himself.

Perhaps that was why she had always considered Jin nothing more than a passing phase in her sons' lives.

Yet fate had mocked her expectations.

Against every prediction she had made, Jin was now standing in front of her wearing the Kim family's wedding ring.

Not Taehyung's husband.

Namjoon's.

"Where did I go wrong with my own son?" She murmured.

His own son has betrayed her expectations. Destroying her plans. Just when she thought she would get rid of Jin.

The realization left a strange taste in her mouth.

However, Jin carried the Kim surname. Whether she approved or not no longer held any importance.

Lady Hyuna slowly walked toward the newly married couple.

Her heels clicked rhythmically against the polished floor, drawing both their attention. Namjoon immediately straightened himself.

Jin did not. He remained exactly where he was, staring blankly toward nothing in particular.

His face was pale. His wedding clothes were ruined. He looked less like a newly married groom and more like someone who had just buried a part of himself.

Lady Hyuna observed him carefully.

She realised he wasn't standing beside Namjoon because he wanted to. He was merely standing because he did not chose Taehyung above his father.

Namjoon moved forward. "Mom-"

Lady Hyuna stopped him. "I did not expect you to do this, Namjoon."

"Why, mom? Shouldn't you be happy when your son get married? I thought you would- just like you were for Taehyung. Whether you accept our bond or not, mom, but we are married. Jin is my husband now. Just bless us now."
