"I'll do it."
The words have dropped like stones into the stillness of Mr. Park's living room. Still lingering on the walls.
Jin has made his decision infront of everyone. In front of Lady Hyuna. Infront of Taehyung and his family. In front of the whole Namwon. Lady Hyuna has complemented him for his decision and left before promising him that she will take care of the preparations.
Yet his uncle is still lost in his thoughts.
Mr. Park stands by the narrow window, one hand clenched over the other, gaze fixed somewhere beyond the glass. He didn't turn. Didn't move. Only stared into the distance as if trying to summon silence to speak for him.
His wife sits on the couch, fingers entwined in silent prayer, lips moving with no sound.
Beside her, Mrs. Kim- Seokjin's mother- stares at the small pendant in her hand. She rubs it slowly, smiling at the memory of his husband who is in her mind still alive. Her eyes are distant, lost in another time.
And in the middle of it all stood Seokjin, chest heaving, heart pounding against his ribs like a warning. His gaze low, hands clammy, but his voice has been steady. His decision final.
Beside him, Taehyung stands silent- close, grounded, present. His eyes scans the room, watching every flicker of resistance. And then, slowly, he reaches for Jin's hand, lacing their fingers together in quiet support.
The air feels heavy with words no one wants to say.
"U-uncle-"
Mr. Park speaks before Seokjin can finish. His voice is sharp, almost surgical, yet disturbingly calm.
"I asked one thing from you, Seokjin. Just one."
His shoulders stiffen. "To stay away from the Kims."
The accusation wasn't shouted- it didn't need to be. It landed heavy and cold.
"And what did you do? You didn't just ignore my words- you stomped on them. You crushed my trust under your feet, Jin. Irreparably."
He turns then. His eyes finally meet theirs- not furious, but pained. Deeply disappointed.
"I warned you. Time and again. The Kims are not to be messed with. And yet, you agreed to marry Taehyung?" His tone sharpened, eyes narrowing on the younger man. "A man you've known for barely two months."
Jin's fingers tighten around Taehyung's hand. He looks up, defiant but not angry.
"I love him." His voice is quiet but unwavering. "Taehyung has been my anchor. When everything around me fell apart, he held me together. His constant presence did. He never gave me a reason to doubt him."
Mr. Park scoffs. "Love is not enough, Seokjin. Marriage is not a whim- it's a commitment built over time, over trials. You haven't just accepted a marriage. You made a deal with the Kims. And deals-"
He stares straight at Taehyung. "-have consequences."
"And what does he have to offer my nephew?" Mr. Park barks. "This... So called God of Namwon? With a past more violent than peaceful? A lapdog for the Kims? What future do you see with him, Jin?"
Jin looks down, not ashamed of his love but guilt.
Taehyung steps forward, jaw tight. "I have nothing but my love to offer him, Mr.Park."
"And what happens when Lady Hyuna changes her mind?" Mr. Park presses.
"When she decides Taehyung's loyalty should be to the family, not Seokjin? What happens when she suddenly remembers her love for her own son Namjoon and decides he deserves Jin? Then what? What happens when you're caught in the crossfire and my nephew is the one burning in it?"
