Jin's uncle and aunt immediately rushed forward at the way Jin behaved just now.
Concern etched across their faces. "Jinnie..."
His aunt's voice cracked. "Where were you?"
His uncle gently reached toward him. "What happened to you, Jin? And why are you speaking to Taehyung like this"
Both of them looked confused.
For months they had watched the two men love each other. Fight and protect each other. That's why the sight before them felt unreal.
As if they were witnessing strangers wearing familiar faces.
His aunt slowly lifted her hand, Wanting to cup Jin's cheek. But Jin immediately stepped away.
The movement was quick. As if he couldn't bear being touched.
"Don't, Uncle."
His voice came out quieter this time.
"I respect you. And I know you're worried about me. But please. Do not come close to me right now."
He took another step backward. The pain in his voice made even his uncle lower his hand.
Jin looked as though he were standing on the edge of a cliff. One wrong word away from collapsing completely.
Slowly Jin turned his attention back to Taehyung. The hall seemed to shrink around them. Everything else disappeared.
Taehyung stood frozen in place. Head lowered. Unable to face what was coming.
"Look at me, Kim Taehyung."
Jin's voice was frighteningly calm now. The kind of calm that comes after a storm has destroyed everything.
Taehyung didn't move. His eyes remained fixed on the floor.
"Look at me."
The silence stretched painfully between them.
Then Jin laughed. A hollow sound. A broken sound. One that made several people shiver.
"Why can't you look up, Taehyung?"
His voice trembled.
"Perhaps because I know something I wasn't supposed to know?"
Taehyung squeezed his eyes shut. Every word felt like another nail in his coffin.
"J-Jin..." His voice cracked.
"Please." He finally looked up.
Tears already gathering in his eyes. "Not here. Please."
He took a cautious step forward.
"I'll tell you everything. I promise. Just not here."
The pleading only seemed to make Jin angrier.
His eyes flashed dangerously.
"Why?"
A bitter smile appeared on his face.
"Do you want to execute me too? Just like you executed my father?"
The words landed like a bomb. The entire hall gasped.
Taehyung's face drained of all color. Jungkook stared at Jin as if he had spoken another language. Even Jimin and Hoseok looked completely frozen.
Meanwhile, Jin's mother stood motionless.
For months she had existed in a world suspended between reality and grief.
