9th Night: The Masquerade Ball

Kaname and I walked back to class. As we entered the classroom, the whole Night Class was talking about the upcoming masquerade ball that the Aido family is hosting. Then I heard something from one of the classmates that brought my excitement for the masquerade ball down.

"Did you know that if we aren't considered engaged or married, we get assigned partners based on compatibility? It doesn't even matter if the person has a partner already. Probably it's an opportunity to get to know more people besides the people we know already."

Then another one said, "Probably the doing of the senate. Well, I wanted to go with my boyfriend, but looks like it's not possible... Unless he and I have the same compatibility results."

When I heard that I became dejected. Screw the Senate. I hate those people. I wanted to dance with Kaname... The teacher then came in.

"You all heard about the Aido family's upcoming masquerade ball. For this ball, your partners are going to be assigned based on compatibility. All of you are going to fill this out, and in about three days, the results will be released. Kaname saw me worry and took my hand.

"Don't worry, if we end up partnered with different partners, it's not like I'm going to fall in love with that person."

The teacher then began to pass out the papers, and the everyone began filling out the papers. Ok, let's see.. First question...

Then that was all. That was a quick test.. After everyone finished, the teacher collected them and left. I really am nervous to who I get. Who will be my date to the ball? Will it be Kaname, or someone else? After class ended, Kaname and I walked back to the dorm, holding hands. As we walked, I unconsciously laid my head on his shoulder.

"I love you, Kaname." He then chuckled.

"Why this all of a sudden?" He said.

"If I do get another partner, I just don't want you to get other ideas. I love you and only you." Then he gave me a kind smile.

"Then will you stay at my dorm for today?" I blushed at his declaration.

"S-sure..." We then went to the living room, where everyone was sitting. They were talking about the possible results. Hana-chan then spoke to me.

"Mitsuki-chan, who do you think you got?" To be honest, I have no idea, but one thing I know is that there is a high possibility that I don't have the same results as Kaname.

"I really don't know.." Then Senri stayed staring at me.

"Hmmm.. Looking at Mitsuki's personality and the possible hobbies she does, from my point, I think she could end up with Hanabusa or Takuma."

Hana-chan looked extremely happy, and Takuma-chan as well. After Senri's statement, I sensed Kaname's jealousy, but I took his hand and held it tight.
