17th Night: I Will Protect You

*Kaname's PoV, 6:30 pm*
Mitsuki and I ended sleeping in Koichi's room for the day. She is right. She and I haven't been spending enough time with Koichi. We decided to go out on an family outing tonight after class. The day is almost here... The day when I have to leave Mitsuki and Koichi. I looked at Mitsuki, who was still sleeping beside me. I took her outstretched hand and held it tightly. I will protect you, Mitsuki. I then heard the door open slowly. It was Kyoko, who had a surprised look on her face.

"Oh! Please excuse me, Lord Kaname.." Kyoko was just about to leave the room as I stopped her.

"Wait, Kyoko. I need to speak to you for a second. Can you meet me in the hallway in ten minutes?" She looked puzzled. I'm going to tell her what the situation is since she is Mitsuki's closest friend.

"Umm.. Sure?" She left the room confused. I kissed Mitsuki on the cheek and then went back to my dorm, filled with thoughts.

"Kaname!" Ichijo called.

"I've been looking for you everywhere! A letter arrived from Masato! He said to open it as soon as possible!" I took the letter from Ichijo. It must be regarding our secret mission.

"Okay. Thank you, Ichijo." I got to my dorm and opened the letter.

Dear Kaname,
    As you may know, Rido's awakening is slowly approaching. I've been having premonitions of what is going to happen. This time, he is targeting both Mitsuki and Koichi. Obviously, your son has the power of both the Kuran and Kobayashi families, the top two most powerful of the eight Pureblood families. Rido is planning to devour him, so you need to be careful. In Mitsuki's case, he probably plans to make her into his puppet.  That is what I have seen so far in my visions. See you soon.

Well, I knew that Rido was going after Mitsuki, but now he's going to go as far as making her his puppet? And now he wants to devour Koichi? As if that's going to happen. I will never let that happen. I quickly put on the Night Class uniform and left the room. Right in the hallway, I saw Kyoko.

"What is it, Lord Kaname? What do you need to talk to me about?"

Well, might as well get to the point.

"Listen, Kyoko. You mustn't tell Mitsuki what I'm going to tell you and that's an order." I said in a very stern tone. For a second she looked petrified but she then gained her composure back.

"I-I won't."

"I am leaving Cross Academy with Masato in two days because Rido is going to reawaken. I know Mitsuki might be able to sense where I am, but what I need you to do is to make sure she does not leave this school and go after me. Rido wants to make Mitsuki his puppet and devour Koichi to gain power."

When I said this, Kyoko's eyes widened.

"Then if that's the case, then I will be more than happy to do this, Lord Kaname! I want to protect Mitsuki and Koichi as well, so yes! You can count on me, and I won't tell her anything."

I then thanked her and went back to the office to organize a few things.
