21st Night: A New Beginning

Kaname and I prepared to make our move, since Rido was preparing to attack us.

"The both of you should just give up. None of you are a match for me." Rido said all proud of himself.

Rido made his first move and was about to whip blood at me. I easily dodged it. I tried to tap on to his memories so that I can use mental projection, but it didn't work, because his mind was completely blocked off.

"What?" I said surprisingly.

"Oh, I'm so sorry sweetheart but your little mental projection powers won't work on me."

Kaname then threw rocks from the ground at Rido, and Rido was able to dodge them. Kaname and I continued to dodge his attacks, thinking of a way we can weaken him and finish him off. I then used my powers to make blood spurt out of his shoulder.

"Oh, that hurt.." He said sarcastically.

"But that isn't going to stop me from doing this." He quickly whipped his blood whip at me and he was able to get my hand, but the cut quickly faded.

"What are we going to do, Kaname? He's dodging our attacks!" Rido began to laugh.

"I can't wait to bury the both of you: The only daughter of the all powerful Kobayashi family, and the ancestor of the Kuran family! This is perfect! This will be the day when the Kobayashi family will become extinct!"

"Rido... You still are a complete fool." I heard a voice echoing throughout the area. In front of me, appeared Sayomi's spirit.

"W-what? Lady Sayomi? Is that you?"

"Yes, Lady Mitsuki. It's me. I'm here to help you finish off this wretched thing." Rido then cackled.

"You are a wandering spirit, Sayomi. You cannot defeat me."

"I may not be able to defeat you in this form, however..." Sayomi approached me.

"I need to borrow your body, it's going to feel a little awkward. Is it all right?"  Kaname stood in front of me protectively.

"No, Sayomi. I don't want Mitsuki to be a vessel." Kaname said.

"No, Kaname, it's ok.. If this is what it's going to take to defeat Rido, then I will happily accept it. Don't worry. I'll be ok, Kaname." I gripped his hand tightly.

Then we made a plan. Kaname is going to distract Rido, and Sayomi in my body is to finish him off.

"Ok, Mitsuki... I'm going to enter. Like I said, it may feel a little weird and you not going to be able to control your body for a bit." I breathed in.

"Ok...go ahead."

"Well, good luck Buttercup! See if you, as Sayomi, can defeat me. Your powers won't compare to hers." I tightly grabbed Kaname's hand, and another presence entered my body. It was a very ticklish feeling, and I lost complete control of my body. I crouched to the ground.

"Mitsuki, are you ok?" However, I couldn't reply to him. Sayomi had complete control of my body.

"I'm fine, Kaname. And I'm Sayomi at the moment, not Mitsuki." She spoke in my voice, but her tone wasn't the same. It was a bit more mature than my usual happy tone.

"Let's make this quick, Kaname. I want to make this short and sweet, being in a body feels heavier."

I watched as they fought. I wish I can help in some way.

"And you can, Mitsuki. All you need to do is lend me your inner power. Just believe in the power that hides within you.." I prayed. I prayed for Rido to be defeated. I wished that peace would once again be brought back. My soul began to glow.
