By the time we'd left the mall, it was nearing five and everyone was tired and ready to go home. Bonnie found himself a new black shirt, along with a spiked red collar (that Gold absolutely loved). Foxy had gotten himself a pirate hat from a costume shop, and we were able to convince Freddy to buy a blue vest that looked and fit perfectly. He seemed to like dressy, fancy and flashy, "classy" as he called it. All of them seemed stuck in different time periods; Freddy was very fifties in his style, Chica was reminiscent of the seventies and eighties with her free love attitude, Foxy of course was somewhere back in the seventeen hundreds when pirates ruled the seas, Gold was close to Chica in the nineties, while Bonnie seemed the closest to modern age, with his alternative style and open mind.
I was thinking about this the whole way back. I know the articles said they were killed within the same time period, but they were just such great departures from each other. I couldn't even begin to place Marion and Plushtrap though. They were in a world of their own.
"Aye lass, what time is it?" Foxy asked, rays of sun beginning to peak over the horizon. I looked at my phone.
"Five twenty. We're just in time."
"Perfect." Freddy smiled. It was nice to see him smiling again.
We walked through the doors to find Marion waiting for us, sitting on Foxy's stage and listening to her music box. She just waved as we walked in, only half paying attention. I took the distraction to hop on stage beside her and move to sit out of her view, and gently pulled the cherry ties out of her hair, letting it fall. It reached past her shoulders surprisingly, but it was enough to pull the inky strands into a ponytail below her ear. I pulled a red bow out of my pocket, wrapping the tie around the ponytail to tie it off.
"What did you do to my hair?" She asked, looking at me in the mirror of her music box.
"Take a look yourself."
She tilted the box, lifting it up slightly. Her eyes widened when she saw the bow, touching it gently before twisting around and hugging me. Her arms were light around my ribs, not enough to hurt, but it still felt pressured.
"Thank you Minni. It's perfect."
"You're welcome." I smiled, placing her cherry ties in the music box. "Now you have options to do your hair like every girl should."
Foxy appeared suddenly, hopping on stage beside us. He took off his hat and set it on my head, where it tilted forward slightly. I was surprised, but it took my until now to notice that his hair was pulled back in a ponytail as well, sitting at the base of his neck. I played with the tie, watching him chuckle at me.
"Ye look tired lass. Your shift is almost up, ye should go home and get some rest."
"What about Vince?"
"I went and untied him, lads still out cold from me swing. Shook 'em a little too, so hopefully he'll be up when the bell rings."
Just as he mentioned it, a chime went off, and he stood up to close the curtains. I was able to look through a tiny crack to see a groggy Vincent begin walking through the building, staring at the animatronics like they were demons, before running out of the building. I yawned, leaning back against Foxy's stool.
"Lass, ye be needing sleep-" he trailed off suddenly. He sat beside me, pulling up on my jacket, which I hadn't noticed caught on his stool. He revealed the bruises I'd endured, his mouth agape and eyes wide. "This be...what Freddy did to ye?"
"Yeah..." I took a deep breath, trying not to cringe at the pain.
"Aye, love, try not to move too much." He kissed my forehead. "Ye can stay back here in pirates cove and sleep while yer Captain works."
"Really?"
"Yes." He smiled, helping me to my feet and bringing me further into the cove. Foxy let me sit down against the wall, while Marion curled up beside me. I heard Mike walk in while I was drifting off, and Foxy placed one last kiss on my lips before I fell asleep.
•Marion's P.O.V.•
The sound of squealing children woke me up. I was still curled up under Minni's arm, her body radiating warmth. She still had Foxy's hat on. I would have cuddled up closer and gone back to sleep if I hadn't heard someone making noise in the back room.
After a few seconds, I wiggled out of her grip and tiptoed over to the doors behind pirates cove, hearing someone sorting through the piles of props and junk. I cracked the door open and saw Vincent, who I'd thought left earlier in the day. He was muttering to himself the whole time.
"Hello?" I asked loudly, startling him.
"Well hi there little girl." He said, a wolfish grin on his lips. "What are you doing back here?"
"Better question, what are you doing?"
"Well, see, I've been looking for something." He looked at my hands, which were grasping my music box. "I think you found it, actually. Can I have it please?"
"No." I pulled it out of his reaching hands. He suddenly looked infuriated.
"Give me the box kid!"
"No one touches my music box!" I screed, my voice high and cracking. He sprawled backwards as inky black strings flew out of the ground around me, like snakes after prey. His eyes widened at the sight.
"Y-You're one of them..."
"Go home Vincent." I growled, the mass of strings disappearing. "Or else I'll go get Foxy and tell him you're back here. I'm sure he'd love to see you again."
His face paled as he leapt up, sprinting towards the other exit. I pulled my mask down over my face as I walked back out to pirates cove, finding Minni still out cold. With a sigh I walked past her, slipping unseen out of the curtains.
"Argh me mateys! Who be ready to walk the plank?"
Everyone shouted, distracted by the pirate fox. I saw kids crowded around Freddy and his friends as well, gladly singing along with him. This place was slowly getting back to normal, and I loved it. But I wasn't out to play with the kids.
I scrambled my way to the maintenance room, hastily slamming the door shut behind me. A startled Gold sat up, rubbing his eyes furiously. "Marion?"
"Wake up Fredbear." I said, placing my music box on the table beside my next project. "It's almost noon."
"So?"
"I need help."
He sighed, standing up and walking to the table beside me. "What do you need?"
"Get the wires from the spare parts box, and an extra voice module. He needs his replaced."
"Are you sure you want to go waking these guys up?" He began digging through the boxes at my feet. "I mean, you remember how hostile they were towards Freddy and the rest."
"That's because they were scared. Freddy and the rest didn't exactly act how they do now. Didn't look nearly as put together, either."
"That's right, didn't Bonnie..." His face paled. "God, he had it worst out of all of them."
"A missing face is easily replaced, Fredbear. That's clearly evident, or else he wouldn't be on stage."
"Yeah, I guess so. I'm just surprised you were able to find all the parts for this one."
"Well, it wasn't hard," I giggled, looking at a newly put together Balloon Boy. "After all, he's the only pudgy striped boy in that mess."
After Gold handed me the pieces, I began rewiring him, hooking up the voice box and the other components. His eyes lit up slightly, a faint voice echoing in the room.
"Hello...?"
"Hey there." I smiled, opening the lid to my music box. "It's going to be okay BB. You're fixed now."
