The children

The doors opened, revealing the darkened party room and the characters on stage. I walked past them, determined to figure out what was going on. The one thing that stopped me though was when the curtain in pirates cove wavered slightly. The clock only said eleven fifty two, so I thought I might as well check. Didn't want kids in here after hours.

Within a few steps I had gotten to the stage, clamoring up and into the curtains. For once I had my phone with me, so I turned it on and used it as a light. There was a stool in the middle of the room, but no fox sitting on it. Fear ran through my body as I watched him walk out of the shadows, into full view. His head was down, almost like he was embarrassed.

"Ye better be getting to yer office, lassie." He croaked out, shocking me. "It's not safe here."

"Y-You can talk..."

"Aye, we all can." He nodded. "They just can't control what be said."

"The whispers..." I paused. "It's the kids, isn't it?"

"Y-Ye know about them...!? About...us?" He looked up, hope in his eyes.

"Francis. Right?" I asked. Gears twitched within his torn fur as he processed what I said. "That's your name, isn't it?"

"Aye...lassie, it's been so long since I've heard me own name." He breathed. "But...that ain't be my name anymore."

"Foxy, then?"

"Aye. But...thank ye."

The bell began rolling. I was just about to make a dash for the room when something caught my arm. I looked to see his hook wrapped around my wrist.

"I'll do what I can to protect ye. But you have to remind the others."

"Remind them?"

"Of who they once be."

•Foxy's P.O.V•

I watched her nod, leaving the cove curtains and running down the halls. The rest of the group was waking up now, I could see the hatred in their eyes. But I also heard a voice behind me. One I recognized.

"You're really going to do it, aren't you Foxy?"

"Aye." I said gruffly, turning to see a man in the cove. I knew better than that though. He was partially translucent. "Are you going to stop me, Gold?"

"No." He smirked. "I'm just going to watch and enjoy the show."

With that, I felt something within me click. It hurt at first, something I hadn't felt in a long time. Pain. I was changing, and I didn't know how to stop it.

•Minni's P.O.V.•

I slammed the door down. Chica was on the other side, staring at me. I could hear her voice on the other side, stuttering through the glass.

"W-Why don't you come *help me please* play!"

A sudden idea came to mind. I got up, walking to the window. I stared right at her. Chica just stared.

"Chloe." I whispered. "I'm trying."

Something within the animatronic seemed to break. I heard wailing, like a lost child. Soon enough the chicken began to shake her head, backing away slowly.

*my name...you remember...my name...*

"Chloe, please." I pleaded. "You're not an animatronic. You're a person."

"I'm...human..."

Her voice became clearer. I watched as she backed away, running back down the hall. I did something, I know I did. So I sat in my chair and waited until I saw Bonnie in the doorway. I didn't even bother closing it.

"H-Hey kiddo! Why d-d-don't you *free me too* come jam out!"

I nodded. "Brandon. You don't have to do this."

The entire suit seemed to shutter. Bonnie leaned against the doorway for a moment, twitching and locking up and releasing.

"I...don't...?"

After a few seconds he did the same thing Chica did. Bonnie ran down the hall, only to be replaced by the sound of heavy footsteps, sprinting towards me. Out of habit I slammed the button, spotting a flash of red before something banged on my door. Within a few seconds, all the power in the building went out. Terror seized me as the doors opened up, flashing lights taking place in the open doorway. Eyes. Freddy's eyes.

"F-Fredrick!" I screamed, feeling tears run down my face. "This doesn't have to be the end!"

"I-It's me! *Fredrick...*"

I knew I had him. But before I could say anything else I felt someone enter the room, someone human. Arms wrapped around me, and I was flung over someone's shoulder and rushed out the other open door. The entire building was dark, but thankfully I was still clutching my phone in my hand. So when I was finally set down, I turned on the screen and held it up to my savior.

"M-Mike? Is that you?" I asked, not seeing anyone at first. But then I caught a glimpse of boots and tan jeans. And something on the floor beside him; Foxy's hook. Confusion washed over me as I slowly lifted the light to the mans face.

"It be me, lass." He smiled, his eyes watering. "I be human again."

•Third person P.O.V.•

As it turns out, whatever Minni had done, worked. All of the animatronics were going through some type of change, their endoskeletons and fake fur morphing into bone and skin. They had all forgotten so long ago who they were, that they all believed they were the animatronics.

They were the souls of the children inside the animatronics. And they were now reverting back to who they actually were. Everyone except for Gold of course.

He watched from the shadows. He was glad to see them again, as people. But it didn't change the fact that he would never be like them. He'd always be the ghost of the group, feigning life.
