I sat on the couch, holding the Marionette in my hands. It was the size of a baby doll, I really could cradle it if I wanted to. The front door slammed shut, and I quickly placed the doll back within my jacket and zipped it up. Maylene walked into the room with a huff, mumbling curses and angry things.

"What's got your panties in a bunch?" I asked as she sat down beside me.

"I got fired for "handling the apples wrong" and putting up a fuss about it." She made air quotes with her fingers. "Thank fuck you have a job."

"I don't think I've ever heard you swear this much in one sitting." I chuckled, shutting up as she shot me a glare.

"I'm pissed. Now I have to go job hunting again." She paused. "Well, maybe now I can look for a cooks position..."

My mind suddenly snapped up at the thought of something. "Hey, I'll be right back, I need to make a phone call."

After excusing myself I walked up to my room, pulling my phone out of my pocket. There was a picture of May and I on the back ground, smiling like sisters should. But as I unzipped my jacket and placed the Marionette on the bed, I called up Mike.

"Hello hello?" He answered, sending chills down my spine.

"Oh god you sound just like the phone guy."

"Oh hey Minni, what's up? Didn't expect you to call me while I was working."

Shit. That's right, he works day shift. But that might actually be a good thing. "Are all the animatronics doing okay?"

"They seem to be fine, I guess." He paused. "Scratch that, one of them is being a little fidgety."

'Please don't say Foxy' I whispered under my breath. "Which one?"

"Freddy. He seems kind of...restless. If animatronics can even be restless. Did something happen last night?"

"No." I lied. "But hey, do you have any experience in maintenance with those guys? Like rewiring and repairs and such?"

"I have to, I'm the only maintenance guy here. Why ask? Did you break Freddy or something?"

"No. But can I meet you in like ten minutes? I need your help."

"Uh, sure. Not like I actually do anything useful around here anyway."

"Good, see you there."

I ended the call, tossing my shirt off and pulling a clean one out of my drawers. Some ripped up tank that hung off of me loosely, but the fabric was nice. I also put on new jeans and retied my bun, sliding my signature chopstick in to hold it. When I turned around though, my heart stopped in my chest.

The Marionette was no longer limply sitting on my bed. It was sitting on the edge, staring at me, kicking its feet like a small child. I didn't know whether I should be scared or terrified.

"Um...hi?" I said, wary of its response.

"Hello Minni." it's voice was high pitched, crackled, like it was broken.

"A-Are you...okay?"

It nodded. "My music box isn't here."

"Music box?" I paused. I didn't remember seeing one, but it must have been back at the pizzeria. "I can take you to it, I think."

"Would you?" It asked politely, and I nodded. I snagged a backpack out from one of the boxes, along with a couple of flashlights and an extra phone charger. After putting these in my bag I held it open towards the puppet.
