"F-Foxy...?" I stuttered, not believing a damn thing I was seeing. He picked me up, spinning me around in his arms. It took me a while to realize we were in pirates cove, with the light out.
"Ye saved us lassie, ye did it!" He squeezed me. "We be free again."
"But...how...?"
"You reminded us of who we be. We be people, not murderers."
"Murderers...?" I breathed. In a second he put me down, a sad look crossing his face. He was a good foot taller than me, his dark auburn hair messy and spiked. He didn't have an eyepatch anymore, his eyes a bright gold, he looked nothing like the ratty, torn up animatronic with a busted jaw and slashed up fur. He was wearing a red shirt and a pirates jacket.
"Aye. The watchmen before ye. The only thing we could remember was being killed and shoved in these here suits by a worker. So we always went after the night watchmen."
"Then why...why didn't you kill me earlier when I was in here?"
"Chica." He responded. "She walked into the kitchen last night muttering about ye hearing her. The real her. If ye could do that to her, ye could do that to us all."
I nodded, still shocked by what had just transpired. But I felt hands on my cheeks, calloused hands that were still gentle yet firm. Then I felt lips on my forehead, warm breath on my hair.
"Thank you lass."
•Bonnie's P.O.V.•
My entire body ached as I got up, feeling the carpet under my fingers. Wait a second.
"Huh...f-fingers?" I said aloud, trying to look at my hand. I touched my palm with the other, feeling...human skin. Wait, was I...?
I patted myself down. I wasn't in a fur suit anymore. I felt a sweatshirt and jeans, something I hadn't felt in ages. I just sat there for a few seconds, running my fingers over the fabric. In another swipe I ran them over my head. No bunny ears. Just fluffy hair that felt like it hadn't been combed in years.
I bolted upright, hitting my head on something. A yelp escaped my lips, but the feeling felt amazing. I knew it was pain but it was a feeling. Something other than hate and confusion.
"Chica!" I screamed. I knew I couldn't be alone here. "Chica! Freddy! Gold, for fucks sake, someone say something!"
"Bonnie?!" I heard a girls voice call out. I knew it was hers. I scrambled around, tripping over something hard. It was my guitar. I kicked it away, trying to make it to wherever I was going. I finally ran into a wall, grabbing around until I felt a corner.
"Chica?" I asked, waiting.
"I'm over here Bonnie."
It sounded like she was right beside me. I reached out, feeling something warm against my hand. It was her shoulder. In an instant I pulled her against me, my arms wrapped around her shoulders.
"Oh thank god, I'm not the only one." She sighed, gripping the sides of my shirt.
"Of course not." I smiled. It felt good to smile. "Is Freddy here?"
"I-I don't know." Chica said. "He's not the one I'm looking for though."
"Then who?"
A bright light flashed at us suddenly. I couldn't see who was behind it, but at least it was light.
•Minni's P.O.V.•
"Chica!"
Both of our heads whipped towards the curtains as we hear someone shouting. Footsteps followed, along with clanging instruments and more running. I heard a girl call "Bonnie", presumably Chica.
"Foxy? Should we go find them?"
"That be a smart idea lass." He nodded, opening the curtain and helping me down.
I continued to use my phone as a flashlight, lighting the way down the winding halls. I just about ran into the pair as I got around one, flashing my light on them as they embraced. Bonnie looked like some stereotypical emo kid, choppy violet hair, a green sweatshirt, and violet pants with sneakers. Chica on the other hand looked sweet; flowing blond locks, pale skin, a white dress with pink flowers running up the side. She had on yellow rain boots and a pale yellow scarf. Their eyes though were strange; Bonnie's were red, and hers were purple.
"You guys too, huh?" I asked, watching realization dawn on their faces.
"You're...the one who freed us, right?" Chica asked.
"I guess so." I paused. "You wouldn't happen to know where Freddy is, would you?"
"We haven't seen him." Bonnie sighed. "Should we look?"
"There's no need."
We all turned to see a man walking toward us, holding his hand up to the light. He had brown curls, and was wearing black slacks and dress shoes, along with a white button up and bowtie. As his eyes adjusted I could see they were a brilliant blue.
"Yeah, she's definitely who freed us." He chuckled. "I remember the fear in your eyes before Foxy barged in."
"How lovely." I muttered. "Is there any way to get the power back up?"
"Not until morning." Freddy sighed. "There should be flashlights or something in the maintenance room though."
"I'll go look." Bonnie stepped up, beginning to walk away before Chica caught him.
"You tripped your way over here. I'll go."
With that she strolled off into the darkness, leaving us to talk. I could feel my phone shaking in my hands still, I hadn't gotten over the initial shock of what had happened.
"I suppose you deserve an explanation, miss...?" Freddy trailed off.
"Carmine. Call me Minni."
"Well, Minni, you knew our names, so you had to have known what happened to us." He said. "We didn't. We'd forgotten over the years. All we knew was that we wanted revenge. So we took it out on the security guards. I'm sorry if we scared you, it was just in our wiring."
"So, what, are you still animatronics?" I asked.
"No, lass. We be...apparitions, poltergeists, maybe."
"Ghosts." Bonnie chimed in. "Except we still have a solid human form because of the suits. We'll be able to change back and forth at free will, too. Not like we can leave this place and let you get the blame."
"Can't say the same about old Gold though." Foxy growled. "That bear has one nasty attitude."
"Gold...? You mean Barry?" I whispered.
"Yes. See...the bite of '87. I'm sure you've heard of it." Freddy paused as foxy mumbled.
"'Ere we go again with this crap..."
"The kid died. Everyone blames Foxy for it, but it was Gold. He had Barry's body in him when it happened, and he didn't see a kid. He saw someone attacking him. All the guilt and the remorse built up and when he was decommissioned, his spirit started wandering. So the suit isn't connected to him anymore. He's just a ghost."
"That's a real nice way to put it, Freddy."
We all turned to see another man standing in the corner of the room. The light flashed through him partly, but he looked just the same as Freddy. Except his hair was blond, his eyes were brown, and his bow was blue. Gold.
"Now why don't I explain it how I see it."
