By the time I was done wandering around for the day, it was almost seven and the lights were on in my home, the car parked in the driveway. May was inside, probably cooking dinner or talking to mom and dad on the phone. The door was unlocked, a good thing because I didn't have my keys. I walked in to the smell of pasta and tomato sauce, warm smells that reminded me of when we were kids, in our happy household. I was smiling the second Maylene walked out, holding a big green bowl full of noodles, a grin on her pink lips.

"Hey there, have fun today?"

I help up the newspaper. "I got a possible job and a guys number."

"Well I'd call that a success." She spun back into the kitchen, letting me follow her in. May was the cook, she was wonderful at it. I'm surprised she couldn't get a job as a chef around here.

I took a seat at the table as she made up a bowl, setting it down in front of me, before making a bowl for herself and sitting on the other side.

"So, who's this guy you've stolen a number from?"

"His name's Mike, he used to work at this place that reopened down the street. I'm trying to get a job as a night guard there. Pay isn't all that great but it's a job at least."

"You got that right." She snickered. "How much?"

"One twenty a week, overtime on weekends."

"Damn, you weren't kidding." May blinked, looking worried. "Are you sure it's worth it?"

"Probably not. But, hey, it'll keep me out of the house at night."

"True." She smiled. We continued eating, and after we were done we washed the dishes together like we always did. I decided that it wasn't too late to give the number a call, so while my sister left to bed I walked out to the front porch, taking a seat and punching in the numbers.

After a few rings, a groggy voice on the other end finally picked up. He sounded tired, yet still happy somehow. Almost like it was forced.

"Fazbear's Pizzeria, this is Mr. Fazbear speaking."

"Hi, my name's Carmine, I was calling about a job offer."

"Job offer?" His tone seemed to perk up. "You mean the night watchmen position?"

"Yes, is the position still open?"

"Yes, it is! It'd be wonderful if you could come in tomorrow."

"Oh, alright. Is this for an interview?"

"No, no, you can start tomorrow if you'd like. I just need some forms signed so you can start. You are over eighteen, right?"

"Yes sir, twenty two."

"Lovely! Come in tomorrow around eleven p.m., I'll have everything set up. Mind if I ask what your shirt size is though? Uniform matters, of course."

"Medium." I chuckled. "Alright, I'll be there."

~time skips~

It was dark outside. And surprisingly, cold enough for me to wish that I'd brought my hoodie, or some type of jacket. But the lights inside the pizzeria were on, welcoming me inside. I could see a man pacing around inside, so I quickly knocked on the doors, grabbing his attention. He looked up at me and smiled, signaling for me to come inside. The doors were unlocked so I waltzed in, the scent of fresh pizza hitting my nose. I felt comforted immediately, especially from the kind smile on Mr. Fazbears lips.

"Carmine, right?"

"Yes, you can call me Minni." I smiled, shaking his outstretched hand. "This is quite the establishment you've got here."

"Well, I'm glad you think so! Took a whole two years to remodel and refurbish from the old shop." He gestured over to an office door. "Come on in here, we can sign all the papers we need to."

I followed Mr. Fazbear to his office, where a shirt and jacket were laying on the table, along with a couple of forms. I read through them quickly, noticing slight oddities here and there. Fazbear entertainment is not responsible for any deaths on the site, either self caused if otherwise. Fazbear entertainment will pay for the costs of any injuries sustained on the job, along with any funeral costs from such injuries.

"May I ask something?" I inquired hesitantly.

"I know, it's about the injury clause. The building may be new, but some things still aren't cleaned up yet. We've had one accident already, chef knocked over some loose boards in the back room. He's on leave for the moment, no harm done besides a broken hand."

I shrugged, signing the papers and passing them over to him. While he read it over I picked up the shirt and put it on over my tank, fastening the buttons quickly before grabbing the jacket as well. Once I was finished he stood up, holding the door open once again.

"I'll give you a tour of the place and what I expect you to do. It's not much, should be easy to handle."

I nodded, letting him bring me out into the main room, there were tables for kids and a stage, where three animatronics stood. They seemed new, but something about the way they were positioned made them seem rusted and probably incapable of most movements. I walked up to them, getting a closer look at the bunny, the bear, and the...

"Chicken, right?" I asked Mr. Fazbear.

"Yes ma'am. You're a smart one, most people can't figure that out." He pointed to each of the characters in turn. "Chica the chicken, Freddy Fazbear, and Bonnie the bunny."

"Are there other animatronics?"

He huffed, walking over to the other side of the room. There was a purple curtain, dotted with cartoonish stars and a sign saying "out of order". He pulled back the curtains, revealing a rust colored fox, with an eyepatch and a hook for a hand.

"Why's he out of order?"

"Poor Foxy, he had a glitch in his system a while ago. Ever heard of the bite of '87?"

"No sir, I'm new in town."

"No wonder." He shook his head. "Someone tampered with his wiring, all of these guys are able to walk around and move and play with the kids. But when he got tampered with, he accidentally took a chunk out of a little boys skull. Took out all of his frontal lobe."

"Oh my god." I breathed. "So is he shut down permanently?"

"About that..."
