Last night after the show, Pete had pulled me aside and thanked me for everything I had done for Brendon. He told me how nice it was to see him this happy. Then he gave me the whole best friend/boyfriend talk. You know, the if you hurt him you'll have to answer from me, the regular thing. I never planned on ever doing anything to hurt Brendon, but I definitely had the added encouragement of avoiding the wrath of Pete Wentz.

After we got home, Brendon and I made out for a little while before falling right asleep. He was currently curled into my side, snoring softly as the morning sun rays snuck in through the shutters. It was adorable; I didn't move for fear of waking him up and ruining the heavenly scene. The bruising on his face had faded except for some soft green-tan spots around his eyes that showed some of the blood vessels were still healing themselves. A scar was forming along his hairline, but it was attractive. Unlike the little white lines that littered my skin, his scars were a story of how he had grown up and what he had overcome.

My phone suddenly started to ring on the bedside table. I had to scramble to grab it and then make sure my harsh movements didn't wake him up. Brendon continued to breathe quietly as I answered.

"This is Dallon." I attempted not to sound too groggy.

"Dallon? I thought I called Bren's phone." Pete responded.

"You probably did, I don't actually know who's phone I'm on." I briefly took the phone away from my ear to see that it was Brendon's, "B is asleep anyway, what did you need?"

"Oh, um, can you and Bren come down to the music hall at school? I know it's Saturday, but there is someone that you two need to meet." Pete sounded like he wanted to be excited, but there was something depressed sounding about him.

"Yea, what time do you need us there? I don't think B is getting up anytime soon." Pete chuckled as sleeping in late was normal Brendon behavior.

"I really wouldn't expect him to be up before noon. Probably around 2ish. How has he been doing? With the- you know- nowhere to live and no parents." He asked carefully.

"He's welcome here, always has been and always will be. It's cute though. He keeps talking about how he is going to get a job and help pay for groceries and things. I tried to tell him that I just charge everything to my parent's credit card and they never notice anything." I laughed a little, leaning against the wall outside my bedroom, our bedroom.

"I'm glad he has someone like you to take care of him. Often, he forgets to take care of himself. Treat him like the superstar he is." Pete laughed.

"I have to unless I want to face the wrath of you." I laughed again.

We talked for a second longer before agreeing that Brendon and I would be there right at 2 o'clock with our guitars. After saying our goodbyes, I hung up the phone and turned back to the door I had shut behind me. There was a muffled cry coming from the other side of the door. My mind went into a full panic as I hurried to open the door and rush to his side.

"Baby, baby, it's okay. I'm here. I'm right here." I sat next to him on the bed and pulled him into my lap.

"I w-woke up, a-and you-you weren't there. I-I-I know it's stupid, I mean, I could hear you, you-you-you were right outside that door. B-b-but you were right there, and I could hear you. Y-you just weren't hear and I-I missed you." He sobbed uncontrollably, clutching the front of my white t-shirt.

"I'm sorry baby, and I shouldn't have left you alone. It's my fault. I should've been here." I whispered calmingly while rubbing circles on his back. "What woke you up, my love."

"Nightmares." He mumbled into my chest. He took a shaky breath as he prepared to tell me what was wrong.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want, Bear." I hugged him tighter, trying to protect him from everything else in the world.
