Your back began to ache as you leaned up against Satsuki's locker. You checked your phone again to see if she had sent you a message, and were disappointed but not surprised to see nothing. You let out a sigh and grabbed your backpack from off the floor beside you. You took a few steps before you heard your name being shouted from the opposite of the end of the hall. You turned around and smiled at your younger sister. Satsuki was running, her books filled with papers in her hands. Her tan coloured bag flopped around, open and empty, upon one shoulder.

As she reached her locker you noticed the pieces of her hair that had fallen from her clip. Her chubby cheeks and small upturned nose were flushed from running.
"I'm so sorry!" She said in between gasps of air. She continued panting as she unlocked and opened her locker then chucked all but one of her books inside.
"You gonna be alright?" You asked her jokingly.
"Yeah. Just not used to running so much." Her breathing began to steady. You figured she must have realized she was late and ran across the entire school.

As the two of you walked through the halls towards the pool you discussed your day. You told her about your classes, and how you got to sit with Kou at lunch. You were feeling good about the new school and the people you were meeting as well as the material you were learning. Satsuki brought up her trying out for the school's volleyball team. She was extremely confident she had already earned a spot.  "They still need a libero which is perfect! I hope I get to be jersey number 4." She said dreamily.
"You haven't tried out yet, so don't get settled on volleyball." You warned her.
"If I don't make the volleyball team, I'll be a cheerleader. But they have no reason to turn me down. They need a libero, I'm a libero, it's a win-win."
You knew she couldn't be convinced so you let it go, and just smiled and agreed.

Talking with Satsuki about sports reminded you that you still hadn't found a club for yourself. Your excuse was it had only been a few days since you arrived but both of your siblings already found something. The volleyball team clearly needed people, perhaps you could join that? But you barely knew the rules of volleyball and you certainly didn't know any strategy. Your skills were subpar at best. You remembered a flyer advertising the sewing club, except you hated sewing. The thread always got tangled into knots and was impossible to get into the needle, and your stitches always came out wonky looking. Satsuki mentioned cheerleading, but you could barley handle a cartwheel. You didn't want to wear a small skirt or be thrown in the air anyway.

You groaned, starting to stress over the choice of clubs. Satsuki glanced at you with a puzzled look on her face. "Are you even listening to me?" She asked. You inspected her expression to judge if she was offended and was relieved to see she didn't appear to be. "Not really," you admitted. "I was thinking about which club to join." She nodded. "Fair distraction. But really, (Y/N) you shouldn't stress over it. You'll find something soon." Satsuki was very optimistic, which complimented your brother's pessimism very well. You knew she wouldn't quite understand how you felt. "I'm going to retell the story, so make sure you listen this time." She said and dove into it.

The sun was too bright for your eyes as you emerged outside. You squinted and looked around. Only being a student at Iwatobi for less than a week you had yet to see all of the school grounds. You observed the well kept greenery, the large swimming pool, and the buildings that you assumed were the change rooms. Thankfully the team was still inside so you didn't have to confront any big scary muscular swimmers clad in swimsuits. You saw the familiar red ponytail of Kou you felt a bit relieved. You were nervous though you couldn't pinpoint why.

Satsuki retold her story as you headed towards Kou. This time you half listened, which was more than the first time so she couldn't complain. She was telling you about the book in her English class that she had to read out loud. Occasionally you would say something simple like "wow," or "yeah," just to let her know you were paying attention.

"Hey, (Y/N)!" Kou greeted you with excitement. You waved and said hello back with a smile. "So you're Kou." Satsuki scanned her eyes up and down analyzing her. Then she smiled brightly and said, "I'm Satsuki, (Y/N)'s sister. She's told me about you. But all good things don't worry!" She added. You worried that Kou might grow uncomfortable or awkward but were relieved to hear her laugh and reply, "Hello Satsuki, I've heard about you as well." She turned so she could address both of you and asked about Tsukiko. Right on cue your brother approached.

Tsukiko was wearing a long black swimsuit that covered the majority of his legs. It had three mint stripes down the side. He was walking with three other boys, and talking to a sweet looking, broad shouldered, walnut haired boy. Even from the few feet between you, you could hear the kindness in his laughter. His shamrock coloured eyes were focused on whatever your brother was saying. He nodded his head encouragingly. They looked like they had been friends for years. Behind them was a taller boy with blue hair. He was thin and lithe with red glasses framing his amethyst eyes. He was talking to a shorter boy, who had golden hair, magenta eyes, and a childish but cheerful looking face. Overall, none of them had a menacing vibe which made you feel safe and relaxed.

Kou was over the moon staring at Tsukiko. Her face was flushed a deep pink as her eyes washed over his body. It made you uncomfortable. "Hey!" You spoke sharply, making Satsuki jump. "Hello team," Kou ignored you. "And welcome Tsukiko." She said breathily. He thanked her and unenthusiastically said hello to you and Satsuki. She stuck her tongue at him which prompted him to do the same.

The team introduced themselves to you. Makoto was the big friendly one, Rei was the tall one with glasses, and Nagisa was the short happy one. He reminded you of your sister. They began to talk about swimming and training and you zoned out from their conversation. It didn't really matter to you. You let yourself be distracted by two butterflies dancing around with each other. One was a beautiful light but still rich pale blue like the sky, and the other was a shade of periwinkle that you couldn't quite decide if it was blue or purple.

Drops of water splashed your face, drawing your attention back to the swim team. You wiped off the droplets with your sleeve and annoyed, turned to see what had showered you. Your annoyance melted away. A beautiful boy stood before you, dripping wet. His hair looked black but you could see it was just a very dark shade of blue. A very beautiful shade of blue. It complimented his lighter skin tone nicely. His body was lean and toned which made your face grow hot. His jaw was defined and sharp and he held a near emotionless expression on his face. His eyes took your breath away. Exactly like the ocean waters, a million colours all at once. Vibrant shades of cerulean, with shadows of Prussian blue and highlights of cyan and teal. Never before had you really thought about it but this boy was, what one would consider, your type. To you, he was perfect.
