You were waiting at Satsuki's locker, fidgeting with your necklace. What if Suki told him you liked him, or if you embarrassed yourself? You didn't want Haru to think you were a weirdo. "Hey, (Y/N). Whatcha thinking about?" You snapped your head up to see Suki sauntering towards you. She was clearly in no rush. "Or should I say, who?" She smirked. "I- I don't know what you mean." You said nervously. She laughed a little, and kept walking towards the doors that led out to the pool, where you were meeting with Kiko and Haru. "Dont worry, I'm your sister. Your secret is safe with me, and I'll do what I can to help you. Kiko is the problem. He's so uptight and protective. 'You can't make eye contact with boys until you're 136!'" She mocked him. You giggled at her impression of him. Perhaps it was because they were twins that she did the perfect Kiko voice. "Imagine it like a game of snakes and ladders. You're the player, Kiko is the snake, I'm the ladder, and Haru is the end prize. Too bad the game is all luck based." She said. Even though she was a year younger she felt like an older sister sometimes. "I'll keep that in mind." You said. Suki had been distracting you, and you didn't notice you had already reached the doors. Waiting outside was Haru and Kiko. You were so nervous, and Suki must have noticed because she tried to cheer you up. "It will be okay, I promise." She said, and pushed open the doors. The sun was shining, and the sky was blue. It was a beautiful day outside. But to you, what was more beautiful was Haru. The way his hair fell into his face a bit, and how gorgeous his eyes were. "Well don't stare at him." Suki scoffed. You straighten up, worried he might have noticed. "Sorry!" You whispered. She laughed again. "Lighten up a bit. You're acting like Kiko." She said. This made you smile. "What about me?" Your brother asked. "Nothing. How was school. Did you miss me?" Suki replied. "Tons. Didn't know if I could make it through the day without seeing you." The four of you started walking, and since the twins were talking it left you and Haru to attempt small talk. "Hello Haru." You said. "Hello." He said back. "Did you have good day at school?" You asked. He nodded, and said "What about you?" You could tell he wasn't much of a talker - unless he just didn't like talking to you. You hoped it was the former, and not the latter. "It was good." You said. An awkward silence fell between you two. "Damn it. I made the conversation fall flat." You thought to yourself. "Hey, do you guys want to play a game?" Suki asked cheerfully, turning around to walk backwards so she could face the three of you. "Sure." You said, grateful to her for saving you. "Alright, guess who I am." She began, starting to get a huge smile on her face. "I'm the prettiest boy ever and -" She used her spot on Kiko voice, but was cut off early by a push from Kiko. You giggled at Suki's silliness. You looked over at Haru to see he was smiling and also blushing. Was he blushing because he liked Suki? He noticed you looking at him, so you turned away. You felt your heart sink. He was probably just coming over because of Suki. You glanced up at her, still arguing with Kiko. She was beautiful, funny, talented, it would make sense for Haru to like her. "Your laugh is cute." Haru said suddenly. Your heart instantly rose. You blushed and thanked him. The background noise of the twins speaking disappeared. "Are you hitting on my sister?" Kiko stopped walking, and so did you and Haru. "You're just jealous nobody talks to you because you're the human equivalent to a piece of bread." Suki taunted him. "I am not!" Kiko defended himself, and kept walking to keep up with Suki. You exhaled the breath you holding. Suki spun around, and said,"You look so cute together!" She was trying to save you again, but was unsuccessful. You looked at Haru for a reaction but he was looking away. You felt an awkward tension start to grow between you two. One last time, Suki turned to look at you and quietly said, "Talk to him!" Although she tried to be quiet, you were sure Haru had heard her. You were almost home, and you were glad, hoping nothing more would happen.
