A tan hand holding a bottle of water appeared out of nowhere. It was light green with a killer whale sticker on it. You looked to see Makoto smiling at you. "You should stay hydrated. It might make you feel better." You returned the smile and had a sip of the cold and refreshing water. You handed him it back to him. He reminded you of a mother sometimes, which you were very grateful for but all you said was "Thanks, Makoto."

The kind expression on his face changed into one of concern as he began to fumble with the bottle. "I've been Haru's friend for a really long time. Childhood best friends, you know?" He glanced up at you to read your reaction. You didn't know where this conversation was headed so you kept your expression neutral. "I've just never seen him act like that before. I don't know if he knows how to tell you, but I think you're really special to him." Your heart pounded into overdrive. A wave of heat flushed your entire face and your ears began to burn. It was one thing for Haru to flirt with you, but this was a whole different type of embarrassment.

You tried to say something but you couldn't think straight. Images of Haru and yourself together flooded your brain. You wearing his sweaters cheering him on at swim tournaments, the two of you going on fun dates like walking along the beach at sunset, the two of you kissing for the first time and then a million more after that. Him wearing a lapis blue suit with a gorgeous blue hydrangea boutonniere to match your corsage, saying vows at your wedding by the ocean. A sound stuttered out of your mouth but it certainly was not comprehensible.

"No, I'm sorry! Please don't over heat!" Makoto cried. He thrusted his water bottle back into your hands and began to fan your face. While the cool air did feel nice, you shook your head. "I'm fine, I'm fine." You assured him as you rose your hands to separate you. "Just embarrassed." Before he could say anything else Suki slid into the conversation. "I've got her now, you should be getting ready." She said. Then she added, "Thank you though. I really appreciate it." A beautiful smile stretched across her face accompanied by a small twinkle in her deep brown eyes. You recognized this look as the same one Kiko had when he spoke to Kou. You wondered if a similar look happened when you were with Haru.

Makoto went back to listen to whatever Kou was saying, and you and your sister decided to be useful and fill up the teams water bottles. Suki was already holding Makoto's so you handed her Rei's while you scooped up the other. Suki told you to leave Kiko's since "He was being a jerk so he can drink warm old water." You rolled your eyes at her pettiness, though you understood. Thinking of how he treated Haru made you want to be childish too.

While you stood at the fountain slowly filling up all 5 of the water bottles you tried to think about what Makoto had said. However, Suki obviously could not read your mind to know what you were doing and interrupted. "You're managing to stir up every alpha male in the district." She teased.
"They're not wolves, don't say alphas. That's weird."
"You can't tell me what to do." She stuck her tongue out at you. "But seriously, Kiko is so overprotective of you and it's clear Haru is too. Now you've gone and involved Rin? You're asking for a fight." You huffed, annoyed that she was making a good point. You had been mingling with two rivals, and your brother added even more tension. You capped Nagisa's full water and grabbed another, then headed back into the pool room.

What Suki said was true, and it worried you. You had upset Kiko by being close with both Haru and Rin but you didn't really care about that. He would be displeased with whatever you were doing no matter what it was. It was Haru you worried about. You had seen all emotion leave his body when he put the pieces together about you and Rin knowing each other. Makoto's words remained prominent in your mind.

You set their waters back where you found them and resumed your position on the bench. Kou walked past you holding a handful of papers, noticed you, and doubled backed. "Someone's phone has been going off in the bags. Just thought I would let you know." She then hurried off. "You stay, I'll check." Suki said. She clambered through everyone's bags to reach her own then pawed through the contents. Eventually she found her phone and clicked it on. She shook her head no, then grabbed your bag and stumbled back over to you.

"Thanks." You said and unzipped the front pocket. Suki placed her head on your shoulder and waited for you pull out your phone. "Can I have a little privacy?" You asked.
"If you're not hiding anything then I can look."
"It's none of your business what happens on my phone."
"Is it a third boyfriend? Are Haru and Rin not enough?" She was only joking, and you knew that but regardless you began to feel ticked off. Perhaps it was because she was reminding you of Kiko.

"Neither of them are my boyfriend. Rin is very good friend and it stays like that. Haru," you hesitated, not sure what to say. You weren't dating but you already felt committed to him, and his reactions towards you plus what Makoto said made you think the possibility of a relationship high. "I hope Haru will be." Thinking about it made your cheeks slightly pink, but saying it aloud, even just to your sister, made you flush deeply.

Suki noticed. "Awwww, you're blushing! Isn't that adorable." She sat up and pinched your cheek. You smacked her hand and pushed her away. "Can you keep your voice down? We've had enough attention drawn to us today." You snapped. Your face was hot. You looked away and tried to sway your hair over your burning skin.

Just your luck, the maroon coloured hair of Rin caught your eye from across the pool. He was fiddling with his goggles while whom you assumed was the team captain was speaking. Even from across the room you could see his rippling biceps and abs. You admired for only a moment, but Suki was too quick. She leaned in to whisper to your ear. "Even you can't deny, Rin is smoking hot."

She began to giggle and you shoved her away again. "Fine, I admit he's not bad to look at." Something about the way Rin carried himself, he had a leader like demeanour about him. He came off intimidating at times, but with just around a week you had known him, he was already one of the kindest people you had ever met. He really was a big softie. "I'm not Rin's friend because I think he's attractive. I like the person he is, and we have a lot in common." You clarified. Suki rolled her eyes and sighed. "Don't care. I'm not Kiko. Be friends with whoever, I really couldn't care less." She said simply. "But gee you sure get defensive, and it's fun to tease and play around with you." She giggled again as she poked you in the ribs, causing you to jump.
