Chapter 8

Once the movie had ended, Haru had to go home. Suki had fallen asleep on Kiko's lap, so both of them were unable to walk him home. "I don't mind walking you home." You volunteered. "Definitely not!" Kiko protested, which woke Suki up. "Do you ever shut up?" She asked Kiko angrily. "Well I'm sorry Sleeping Beauty, but we're walking Haru home now." He said and got off the couch. Kiko headed to the door, and Haru went with him. You waited for Suki to groggily get up, and rub her eyes and stretch and such. She was clearly taking her time to antagonize you. "Bye." Kiko called from the front door. You heard the squeak of it open, some footsteps, and the thump of it closing. You saw movement outside the window and rushed to get your shoes on. Suki was not far behind as you both put on shoes hurriedly and ran after the boys, not even locking the door. They weren't far past the end of the driveway. You blinked trying to adjust to the dark.  It was dusk outside and pretty cold. To get to Haru's house you had to walk past the ocean. The way the moon lit up the water was beautiful. It made you feel calm, and serene. The salty, icy wind whooshed past you and you shivered. "I wish I brought a sweater." Suki said, voicing your thoughts. "Who's fault is that." Kiko asked. "Yours. If you had just waited we would have had time to grab a jacket." She replied. As usual, they began arguing over nothing. You hugged yourself, trying desperately to keep warm. You all started walking a little faster trying to get out of the cold. Eventually, after a little more walking you reached a hill. "We're almost there." Haru said. You let your arms drop since the oceanic wind was no longer a threat. You hadn't realized how close you had been standing to Haru, and your hands brushed together. "Sorry!" You yelped and brought your hand up to your chest."(Y/N) did you just try to hold hands with Haru?" Suki asked, amusement in her voice. "No, I didn't mean too, it was an accident!" You said.  Suki laughed at you, and Kiko looked a little ticked off. You looked at Haru, scared he might think you were creepy. Luckily he looked understanding, though slightly embarrassed, so you  gave him an apologetic smile. He smiled back then looked away. Hopefully he didn't think you were weird. "We're here. Thank you for walking me." Said Haru. "No problem, see you tomorrow." Kiko said, and started heading down the hill. Suki waved at him and followed her brother. "Bye Haru." You said quickly and went after the twins. Even though you were only apart from them for a few seconds they were already arguing. "Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not going to happen." Suki was saying. Kiko rolled his eyes. "Well my opinion should be taken into account. I should get a say if my friend and sister are dating." You realized they were probably talking about you and Haru, though it could easily be about Suki. "Does Suki have a boyfriend?" You asked. Kiko scoffed, which annoyed Suki. "No, but you seem to have a crush on somebody." She said and smirked. Apparently she wasn't going to keep your secret for long. You blushed a bit. "I do not." You argued. "No point in hiding it (Y/N). And don't listen to what Kiko says. He's just jealous that girls don't like him." Suki said, earning a punch from Kiko. "I could get a girlfriend if I wanted!"He exclaimed. "Then why don't you have one?" Suki asked. Kiko seemed at a loss for words until finally saying "I'm just not interested in anyone."
"Lies. I saw you staring at Kou quite a bit." This sparked your attention. "Kiko, I didn't know you had a thing for Kou." You said. You could use this against him. He turned light pink  and stammered "n- no I don't."  You laughed at him. "And I wasn't staring at her, she's the swimming manager so of course I'm going to look at her when she talks." He said to Suki. "I bet you only joined swimming to have a reason to be near her." They started arguing again. The two of them knew how to get on each other's nerves so well.
