The Doctor's POV

" So, tell me some stuff about yourself while we wait.." Ellie said, leaning against a railing. I eyed her suspiciously, watching the rail bend a little due to her weight.

" Don't lean on that." I told her, returning to the control board. I twisted a knob, and flicked a few switches.

" Tell me who the ' Doctor ' is..." She said, folding her arms, putting her full weight on the rail.

" I'm the one who is gonna get you off of the hundreds year old rail, before it snaps." I said, taking her wrist, and pulling her to her feet. She sighed, and sat down in one of the seats.

" Speak." She ordered me. I eyed her once more, raising a skeptical eyebrow. She raised her eyebrow back at me. I sighed, and put my hands on my face, slowly sliding them down, until they fell to my side.

" Fine." I said. " I'm the Doctor-"

" Doctor what??" She interrupted.

" Do you want to know who I am or not?" I asked. " Because I'm more than glad to stay anonymous..."

" Sorry... But, is that really your name? Just Doctor??" She asked.

" Yes." I said flatly. " Now, stop about my name."

" Is that a nickname, or...?"

" Stop asking about my name!" I exploded at her" Doctor is my name, and that's it!" She sat back in her seat, fear etched on her face. I sighed, rubbing my eye. " I'm.. Sorry. It's just one of those touchy subjects.." I said quietly.

" It's ok... Sorry I pried." She said, her fear melting. " Please, go on."

I cleared my throat. " I'm a TimeLord. I am nine hundred and four years old-"

" What!!" She screamed. " Nine hundred and four!? "

" You heard me right..." I said, a smile creeping onto my lips. " Nine hundred and four." She slouched in her seat, and waited for me to continue.

" And, I am from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous... Anything else you wish to know?"

" Gallifrey?" She asked, leaning forward in the seat. " What's Gallifrey like?" I felt a sad smile creep onto my lips, as I remembered my home. I sighed, and put my hands in my pockets.

" Oh, it's gorgeous... The amber skies, and the red grass... The tree's silver leaves waving in the wind... And, the stones of the mountains were not gray... But red, purple, brown and gold... And when the second sun would rise in the south, the mountains would shine.. And, the silver-leafed trees looked like a forest on fire in the mornings.." I sighed, and looked off into the distance, images of my home flashing through my mind. " I lived with my family in a small home halfway up the mountain when I was a child.. I'd run up and down the mountain, and watch the countless species of birds that flittered around the skies..."

" Can we go there?" Ellie asked, shaking me from my daydream, excitement spread across her face. " It sounds gorgeous!"

" We can't." I told her, my voice falling. " I would, but... We can't."

" Why not?" She asked.

" Because we can't." I said, my voice cracking. She looked at me with her big, brown eyes, and stood up.

" Doctor..." She said, barley above a whisper. Just then, the TARDIS shook violently, and I stumbled backwards, catching myself on a rail. Ellie fell back into her seat, and clung on for dear life.

" What is that!?" She shouted. Excitement began to bubble deep within, and the TARDIS stilled. I laughed.

" We're here." I smiled. " Ellie, welcome to the Great Depression.." I said, getting to my feet.
