After a week of finding and killing, Dante fiannly got a break. But the kills were getting to him and Layla noticed. Though she didnt know why. Dante kept thinking of his nightmare and the mirror in the tomb and of Dark Dante. Dante was beginning to think that what he had said was true.
Dante stood up from his bed after thinking about it. He walked over to his mirror and starred into it. Nothing happened. Dante was relieved and than went outside to go see Layla. Since Layla was the only thing to take his mind off of the bad things, he went to see her everyday, for as long as he could. "Well hey cutie!" Layla said as she saw Dante. "Hey beutiful." Dante replied. They kissed and hugged and started walking down the road. "Are you okay?" Layla asked. Dante was afraid to answer that. He knew Layla noticed that he was acting different but he didnt want to tell her why. "Im fine." He said.
As Layla and Dante walked down the road, holding hands and stopping to kiss once and a while Dante felt a sharp pain in his head. He tried to fight back the pain and succeeded at it. But the images that popped up in his head were horrible and filled with blood. Dante heard Layla scream out of no where and quickly snapped back to himself. "Whats wrong?!?" Dante asked. Layla pointed at the ground and a big spider lay on the ground. "Oh its just a spider." Dante said. Dante stepped on the spider and got Layla to open her eyes again. And than Dante remembered the spiders.
Dante was sick. Not sick in health but sick in the mind. What he went through to save the one he loved was worth it but was stuck in Dante's head.
Dante took Layla to the coffee house again as usual. They ordered and sat down and Layla began with questions. "So how many?" Layla asked. "What?" Dante replied. "How many people did you......kill?" "I dont want to remember." Dante said. As Layla scooted closer too Dante, she gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I wish i could fully forget though. Death is not something i want to remember." Dante said. Their coffee came out and Dante and Layla talked some more. They stayed longer than usual. But it didn't matter. Their time was not wasted.
As the day began to end, Dante walked Layla home. Because of Layla staying the night a week ago her parents were strict on what time she got home at night. Nor Layla or Dante liked this but they couldnt say no. Dante began to see images again as he walked down the road. One was very clear and vivid. It was of him and Layla. Layla was standing over what seemed to be a bed railing and he was laying down, dressed in white with an IV connected to his arm. He quickly snapped out of it as he reached Layla's house.
Dante began to kiss Layla on her pourch. They kissed for what seemed to them a while. Dante always liked the way she tasted. He couldn't resist it. It was like Layla has a spell cast over him that keeps him close. As the sun went down Layla and Dante kept kissing. But soon enough Dante had to say goodbye. As he walked away he started to think of the bad things again. Dante looked back and relized that Layla was his last piece of heaven. He couldnt give that up.
