With Dante's mom in his life there were things needed to be asked and things needed to be said. Dante took his mother the coffee house to talk and pick up on lost times. "So where were you? I mean you were alive this hole time and didn't let me know." Dante said. His mom looked at her coffee and took a sipas she figured out the words to say. "Ive been busy. Busy with you and busy with my work." Dante's mom said. "Busy with me. How? All i saw were images and a glowing figure of you. And before you answer that, i dont even know your name, mom." Dante said. The sound of that in Dante's mind made him wish that he had met his mom a long time ago. "It's Eva." She said.
Eva was a fitting and nice name to Dante. But he still had many questions that needed to be answered. "I like that name. But now answer my question." Dante said. "The images you have been seeing are controlled by me."Eva said. "It was my way of contacting you but it had to cause you serious pain to work. I tried to get you to believe that i was real but it didnt work until now. When i was coming out of the light in that black room i was able to.get to the point where i can contact you physically." Dante looked at his mother confused. This whole time she had been alive somewhere pretty much calling him and he never answered until now. "So where have you been exactly? With your work and all?" Dante asked. Eva looked at Dante with a very uneasy look. "Look son. You know that you're a catalyst. But once i was. When you were a baby. Thats why i had to give you up. I couldn't put you in harms way of me." Eva explained. "So thats why you have the hoodie." Dante said
More and more they talked in that coffee house catching up. Dante never learned where she was exactly during her time away but he knew she was doing something horrible, like him. Dante and Eva soon stood up from the table and left. "Dante?" Eva said as they walked down the road. "I love you." When Dante's mom had said this it stopped him right in his tracks. These he had only heard from Layla before. But his mom's was different. Dante grabbed his mom and gave her a big hug. "I love you too." Dante said.
Dante wasn't mad at his mom for leaving him. Nor was he upset. He understood that if she wouldve kept him he probably wouldnt be alive today. He wouldn't have met Layla. As they walked down the road Dante heard a small ringing noise come from behind him. He turned around to find Arno standing behind him. "Arno?!?" Eva said. Dante wasnt able to say a word before that cane out. Eva hugged Arno and kissed him on the cheek. "So you have been the one teaching my son to kill." Eva said. Arno smiled. "Yes lady Eva. I knew you can't trust no one more than me." Dante was even more confused but at the same time he understood. His mom set him up for the day he came a catalyst.
When Eva and Dante got to Dante's house Eva had to go. "But mom, where are you gonna go?" Dante asked. "Dont worry child. I have a small place in town far away, but in town. Ill still be able to see you." Dante sighed in relief and hugged his mom goodnight and went in his house. He took his jacket and shirt off and Layed in his bed. He starred at the ceiling until he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Dante didnt have any nightmares or pains that night. His mind was at ease. But he still thought of Layla and when she would be coming back. He missed her more than anything. But his mom had a special place in his mind too. Filled with more questions and him missing their lost times. Dante could only imagine what life woulsve been like having a mom.
