Kala's POV
I woke up on my couch and rubbed my eyes. I sighed and started to look around. I was in mid stretch when I suddenly noticed....... It wasn't my couch I was sitting on. I quickly stood up, but sat back down. Excruciating pain was coming from my head. I looked around again, and started to actually see my surroundings. I was in a small room on an ugly green couch. Pictures were on the walls and down the hall was a light. There was no TV, no other rooms except a bathroom, and a tiny kitchen. "Oh good, your awake!" I heard a relieved voice say. I turned my to see who it was, and gasped.

"Jax?! Why are you here?!" Ugh, stupid, this is probably his house! I thought. "I live here. I was walking by your house, so I thought I might say hi. I heard you scream or make a noise, so I started knocking on the door. When you didn't answer, I picked the lock and saw you passed out on your kitchen floor. So, I brought you here." I stared at Jax. "You PICKED THE LOCK TO MY HOUSE?!"
"Yup. I knew you were in danger, and I know how to pick a lock." He replied calmly. I sighed again and rubbed my head. "Anyway, so you need medicine for your head?"

Jax's POV
I locked the door to my room and fell onto my bed. I just lied to Kala about almost everything! I can't tell anyone anyways, I guess. Maybe I should tell her...... My thoughts were interrupted by a knock. I got up and opened it to find a confused Kala standing right outside my door. "Jax, I thought we had school today?" I looked at her confused. "Didn't you know yesterday was Friday? Today's Saturday." She nodded. "Oh okay, probably lost track." She started to walk away. "Wait, hold on...." I said. She turned back around. "What's your birthday?" I asked. She looked confused for a second, then said, "September 30th." I slapped my hand on my forehead. "Oh no, today is gonna be a long day." I new for a fact September 30th was not her birthday. She told me yesterday. It's September 27th. She probably lost her memory from the fall. Great.

"Since when did you get here?" Kala asked me. "I got here an hour ago, Kala." I was really getting fed up with this. It was 11:00 p.m. and she still didn't have her memory back. We were sitting on the couch. Kala was on her phone and so was I. "I'll go make us some dinner, okay?"
"Yea, thanks."
I walked over to the kitchen and started making soup. It was really cold outside and I wanted Kala to stay warm. I barely know anything about staying warm, since I'm already always cold, but I do know that soup will help.

It was 1:00 a.m. and I dozed off into a light sleep. Kala was snoring, a big warm blanket covering her. "Jax, Jax!" Kala tapped me on my shoulder a couple minutes later. I jumped up. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you, hehe." She apologized. "What's wrong?"
"Why am I at your house?!"
I was relieved when she said that.
I explained everything to her for the second time and told her about her memory. She looked a little embarrassed. "Sorry for annoying the crap out of you." She smiled. "Totally fine." I smiled back.

I lay in my bed. I couldn't sleep at all. I started to think about Kala. I kept going back and fourth about telling her. After about 20 minutes, I decided I would tell her. After my decision, I went on my phone until I finally fell asleep.

Kala's POV
I was sitting at lunch with Jax, his sister Terra and Lily. "Yeah, Saturday night  was terrible. Kala fell and lost her memory for about the whole day! It was pretty funny when she didn't know her birthday and forgot that I sat on the couch with her about an hour after I did." Jax said and laughed a little. "She lost her memory?! Wow. That really stinks!" Terra said to me. "Eh, it hurt, but I don't remember anything after that except Jax telling my I was bugging the crap out of him!" We all started to laugh. Wow, today probably is going to be a good day.

Science, history, and English were all a breeze and soon school was over. I walked into my apartment and put down my backpack. Thankfully I didn't have much homework. I heard the sink turn on and walked into the kitchen. I looked in the kitchen to find my mom washing the dirty dishes I accidentally left. "Hi honey, how's school?"
"Good."
I hugged my mom and walked into my room. She was on a vacation for a week, so I was alone. I will probably never tell my mom what happened on Saturday. She'd worry more than she'll have to. My phone buzzed and I looked at it. It was a text from Jax. "Come to my house, I need to tell you something. It's very important!" Below his text, he sent me his address. I walked out of my room and told my mom I was leaving. Since his house was close, I decided to ride my bike.

I got to his house and knocked on the door. An old woman opened the door. "Hello young lady, you must be Kala." She smiled. I smiled back. "Yes that's me." She told me to come in and I knocked on Jax's door. "Come in!" He yelled. I opened the door and he looked up. "My grandma probably answered the door, right?"
"Yea...."
"Okay then, so I needed to talk to you about some important." He turned all serious. "And how important is-" he interrupted me. "Very, very, very, very important." Jax barely even whispered. "My grandma doesn't even know." At that, I sat down on the floor and waited for him to start. "Jax, clean your room right now!" His grandma yelled from another room. Jax started nervously laughing. "Hehe, sorry about that. My grandma needs everything perfect in this house." He got up and started putting the things he had out away.

When Jax was done, he sat down again. "Okay, uh, where should I start......" He paused for a while, then continued. "Well, Iamanelemdntchild!" He looked up. "What?" I asked. Jax took a deep breath, then said, "I. Am. An. Element. Child." What the heck is he talking about? I thought. He seemed to answer it. "You probably don't know what that is. Well, it's a-" he was cut off AGAIN by an alarm. It was ear piercing. I put my hands over my ears. "What's going on!" I screamed. He looked confused. "I don't know!" We ran out of the room and saw his grandma having a panic attack. "Look out the window!" She yelled. We turned to look, and a huge shadow went by, then a figure. It looked like a giant. Jax's eyes widened in shock. I could tell he was terrified. I probably was more than him. For a second, I thought I saw a bit of recognition flash in his eyes. But in an instant, it was gone. He grabbed my arm and started to pull me. "Come on, we have to go!" I didn't hesitate. He grabbed his grandma and burst the door open. We ran into his grandmas car and sat in the drivers seat. "I can't really drive that well, so hold on tight!" Wait, what? Before I had time to ask, he started the car and put it in reverse, he quickly backed out, and rapidly started driving.

As we got on the road, we could see the figure more clearer now. It was big, it was green? It had something in its hand. It looked like fire. What is this thing?! People were crowding the streets and Jax had to honk about 50 times. We and everybody else was probably terrified. But once we get to where we are going, I'm sure we'll find out. We just have to make a stop at the hospital for Jax's grandma.
