Jax's POV:
We dropped my grandma off at the hospital so she can be safe. Also, to get her out of the way. We weren't going somewhere exactly that safe for old, fragile, women. "Jax, where are we going?" Kala asked. "I'll tell you when we get there."Halfway into the drive, I started to fall asleep. "Jax, get out of the drivers seat and let me drive!" I refused. "No, I got this......." I fell asleep again.
I finally agreed to let Kala drive so I could sleep in the back. I instantly fell asleep once I got comfortable.
I woke up again. It was pitch black except for the lights of the cars. Wait, did Kala even know where she was going? "Kala, I need to drive now. I know where the place is." She nodded her head and I got back in the drivers seat. "Uh, so, what was that thing you wanted to tell me about? The whole element child thing?" I had totally forgotten about that. "I'll tell you when we get to the place. Oh and hold on tight." I grabbed my orb and thought of where I wanted to go. Then, we were flying. "What's going on?!" Kala asked. Right after she said that, we landed in a colorful, lit up village. "Kala, welcome to The Dragon Village."
I picked a spot for us to camp out in the car. We both sat in the front. "Okay, I have a lot of questions to ask, and I'm going to list them one by one. First one, what exactly is an element child?" Kala said. I took a deep breath, then started. "Once, there was a boy named Max. He lived in this village, but it was much more different. It was this village but 1,000 years ago. He was just a regular human boy, until his 15th birthday. He went to blow out the candles in his cake, but before he could, a sharp pain appeared in his stomach. He didn't know why, but it felt like someone was stabbing him. It was so bad that he collapsed. He passed out on the floor. His friends and family were worried, so they put him in his bed. 50 years later, he woke up. He wasn't human when he woke up though. He was one of the Beasts. The Beasts were and are the rulers of each dimension. He walked out of his room and out of the house. Everyone stared at him, then started bowing. 'Why are you doing this?' Max asked them. One elder spoke up. 'When you passed out and stayed like that for fifty years. One candle on your cake was still lit. That candle have you the power to become one of The Beasts. It is still lit today. But just to see yourself, go look in a puddle.' Max walked over to one, and gasped at what he saw."
"In the puddle, he saw his reflection. But it wasn't his normal reflection, it was the reflection of The Beast. He was tall and red. He thought he was the evil one, but he sighed in relief when he saw no green on him. After a while, he got married and had children. Those children each got one of The Beasts powers and it kept happening for generations. That's why I have my powers." I took a breath. "Wait, why do you have two powers instead of one?" Kala asked. "I guess I was born like that. But what I'm about to show you is so secret, you can't tell anyone. Got it?"
"Yes."
I put my hand out in front of my mouth, and blew a soft breeze. Floating slightly above my hand, was a tiny snowflake.Kala's POV:
In Jax's hand appeared a tiny snowflake. I gasped. It was so cool! After that, he blew a path of ice and pulled me onto it with him. "Well, Elsa, pretty impressive if I do say so myself." I gave him a look. "Elsa? Really?" We both started laughing. We were on the ice for a long time. Now, we were holding hands and spinning. I almost fell, but Jax pulled me up. I looked into his eyes, and he looked into mine. I felt so weird, because I haven't done this with someone. "Kala, let go!" He yelled. I instantly let go and we both fell. "What happened!" I asked. He looked at his hand, and a big burn mark was on it. He stared at me with wide eyes. "Kala, did you do this?" He asked. "I-I don't know." He looked me up and down. "Put your hand on the ice....." He told me. I did, and I heard him gasp.
The ice was melting from under my hand.
I quickly brought it up and looked at my hands. Then looked at Jax. He was still staring at my hands. "Kala," he started. "you are the fire element....... The one we've been looking for for 20 years........"
No. I'm not. I am not an element child or whatever. I'm just a normal girl. Jax is wrong. I guess Jax saw the look on my face. "I-I'm sorry for the news. You probably want to just be normal, but that's probably not going to happen." I looked down at my hands. I got up. "Kala, where are you go-" before he could finish, I ran. I didn't want to stop running. I wanted to run away forever. My face stung from the wind flying over my face against my tears. I just wanted to be normal.
After what seemed about 2 hours of running, I stopped at a tree and sat down. As I took heavy breaths, I thought about where I was. I didn't even know where we were. I looked around. It was just woods. But up ahead, I could see light. A village possibly. I looked down at my hands again. I wanted to learn how to control it. I thought of flames, bursting from my hands. I thought of that for a while until I felt warmth. I looked down and saw fire in my hands. I was holding it. Maybe being able to hold fire isn't so bad after all.
Authors Note:
This chapter might be a little short, but next chapter will be longer. I love writing this story, and I can't wait to write more! I might do one chapter every week, but due to my homework and school and all that, I might not be able too. I just have to find whatever time I can. But other than that, thanks for reading this! I saw the little eye with the number 5 next to it, but I don't really know what that means :/ if someone could tell me, that would be great! But I had 2 last time and now I have five, so I think it's a good sign. Thanks!
Kittenkailey out!
