How I became Savannah Solo Part 1

Monday April 6th

*** this is a long chapter sorry****

Kelley, Hope and I woke up at 7 packed everything into our bags and put them on the bus before going to breakfast. While we were eating Coach Jill called me over to the table across the room. She sat down first and told me to sit as well.
Jill: I have a big opportunity for you if your up for it?
Me: Okay? I'm up for it.
Jill: Well I know you're only 16 now but I talked to the U-20 coach and told her about you. She looked at the film I gave her from your high school games and said that if you say yes she wants you on her team for this year.
Me: Really! I would love to hit are you sure about putting me on the U-20?
Jill: Definitely because the plan for you is when your 17 we will move you up to the U-23 and then when your turn 18 we can put on the National Team.
Me: What! Are your serious?
Jill: Completely, your skill level is already way more advanced than most 23 year old players. Also you your endurance and fitness is outstanding. If we could we would put with the National Team already but the new FIFA rule says you have to be at least 18. So in the meantime we want to give you some experience playing nationally with the youth teams.
Me: What about me being in high school?
Jill: It won't affect anything during the school year unless they absolutely need you to play. I know your are flying to Seattle with Hope so I arranged for Coach Michelle French to come see you play in person.
Me: Wow, well okay then
Jill: Well your good to go that's all I have for you. I hope to see you on the youth teams making headlines
Me: Thank you so much! I don't even know anything that could show my gratitude to you. I could never repay you,
Jill:I know and there is no reason to repay me. Your skills and hard work is what I want to see. I know you can do it and be the best at it so go prove me right.
I got up and practically walked/sprinted back to Hope. I was so excited I couldn't sit so I stood there just shaking. Hope noticed and grabbed my arm.

Hope: what has you so excited?

I explained everything that just happen in like 30 seconds talking a mile a minute. They all just looked at me and Kelley started laughing at me.

Kelley: I think she just spoke faster than when Kriegey got her new mascara last week and that was big.
Hope: Okay then motor mouth sit down and stop shaking.
Me: I can't. How much time do we have before we leave?
Hope: 15 minutes why?
Me: That's all I need!

I hit the running app on my phone and took of running. I ran the fastest mile I ever have and then went back to the dining hall out of breath.

Kelley and Hope: Where did you go?
Me: I don't really know. I just ran to stop shaking. I just ran a 5:40 mile
Hope: Well now I won't have to sit next to a jumpy kid for 4 hours.
Me: Exactly now you won't kill me on the plane.

I went to the bathroom and changed my shirt and then followed the girls to the bus. The bus dropped us at the airport and we grabbed our bags and headed in. We checked our bags and then turned to say our goodbyes to each other.

Kelley: Bye guys I hope to see you guys soon. Especially you Savannah. You have my number so you better use it.
Me: I will who else will be my cuddle buddy?
Kelley: No one, well bye guys.

We all hugged Kelley and she walked off to her gate. Ali and Ashlyn had a gate next to ours so we sat together. With an hour to wait Ali and Ashlyn left to get us all coffee. Hope sat down and started reading so my soccer ball out started juggling and doing moves. Hope who I didn't noticed get up came up behind me and grabbed the ball scaring me.

Hope: Sorry didn't mean to scare you but your making me nervous so sit and read or something.
Me: Okay

I sat down and then remembered I hadn't texted my high school soccer coach, Coach Barron. I pulled out my phone and started the text. I didn't really know how to explain it but I just started typing hoping it made sense.
