How I became Savannah Solo Part 1

Tuesday April 7th

I was woken up by Hope letting Sasha out of my room. Hope and Sasha left and I got up and got dressed in Hope extra practice gear which was the opposite colors of what they were supposed to be wearing. On Mondays the team wore blue for practice and Hope only had the bright yellow top. I grabbed my bag and went downstairs. I ate toast and had juice before Hope and I got int the car. Hope parked and we walked into the Seattle Regin building. Hope went to the locker room and I went into the meeting room with Coach French and sat down.

French: It's nice to finally meet you in person
Me: Yes it is
French: So Jill sent me the film of your high school games and I went through most of them. You are very skilled for your age. You play better then most college forwards already. I do want you on my team this year of you want to be.
Me: I would be glad to be on your team
French: Good well ill explain some things then. You know your getting paid, you will be getting $50,000 a game since you will be our starting forward and because you are younger. We will also pay for your travel expenses, you will be given a card to use for when your by yourself.
Me: Um wow, that's a lot
French: Yes it is but its only going to get bigger and you move up. I have your contract here that you need to read through and sign. Also here is my number. When you have signed it we can set up another meeting time.
Me: okay well thanks for meeting me today
French: of course, well I will be staying to watch training today and tomorrow but after that I won't see you until the game Friday
Me: okay thanks
French: Oh and one more thing, when you sign there will be a couple endorsements for you to do and I will have things to give you but you have to sign first. Well I'll see you later
Me: Alright. Thank you so much

I got up and headed to the locker room. I walked in and Megan Rapinoe jumped on me and yelled.
Megan: Baby Horse there you are!
Me: Really Hope have you already told everybody?
Megan: Yes she has and so have I so it's sticking
Me: Fine

Pinoe hopped off of me and said I could use the locker next to her. I put on my shin guards and cleats and put my phone away. We went out and did warmups and stretches before moving into drills. We first did shooting drills. I was making the back post run and Pinoe sent in a perfect cross. I headed the ball into the low corner right past Hope. Once we finished that drill we moved into a scrimmage. Thankfully Hope was the goal keeper on my team. 20 mins my team was already winning 2-0. Hope had the ball and punted it up past the other teams defense and I ran onto it. I dribbled a little and then shot making it 3-0.

The coach dismissed practice and we walked back into the locker room. I changed and packed up before joining Hope on the walk back to the car. We got in and Hope turned to me.
Hope: Damn Baby Horse, I saw some of your film but you blended right in with the girls.
Me: Thanks

Hope stopped at a deli we ate sandwiches for lunch. Once we were done we went to the spirit store across the street and got practice shirts and shorts for me. Back at home I put my things away came back into the kitchen with my contract. Hope saw it and asked if I had read it yet.
Me: No not yet
Hope: Go ahead and read I'll make some coffe

I started reading and it said just what I thought it would. It had what Coach French said and then rules on not doing drugs and not abusing alcohol and abiding by the laws. It also had that when we travel I will use team luggage and travel with the team. I finished reading and looked to Hope.

Me: Wanna read it?
Hope: Yes.

While she read I decided to call my mom and tell her about the contract. She said she was proud and to make sure I was reading everything. I said bye to my mom and then texted Kelley.

Me: Hey Squirrel 😋
Kelley: Hey, Hope told me about your amazing practice today Baby Horse😏
Me: Oh lord she really did tell everybody. And yeah it was a good day
Kelley: Oh yeah that's your name for a long time now😂 she also told me you had a meeting with Coach French
Me: Yeah I did. She gave me a contract
Kelley: That's good I'm proud of you! I can't wait till you get to come play with us!
Me: Yeah I know! Well I gtg Hope is calling me so bye. I'll ttyl 😘
Kelley: Bye Baby Horse😘

I came back downstairs to where Hope was calling me. I sat down next to her

Hope: This is a really good contract and really really good pay
Me: Yeah I know
Hope: This is what you want right?
Me: Yeah it is. I'm just nervous in going to be the youngest by like 2 whole years
Hope: Well that's what happens when your skill level is so advanced
Me: Well here I need I to sign it
Hope: So do I for the guardian signature

I signed it and then Hope put hers underneath mine. I then texted Coach French on when we should meet. She texted back and said at the reign facility at 2 on Thursday. I told Hope and she turned back to me.

Hope: Then we have a problem. I have a doctors appointment that day at 2.
Me: Oh
Hope: ooh wait, you have your license right?
Me: Yeah
Hope: Then you can take the jeep I have. I trust you
Me: Thats funny because that's the car I have at home.
Hope: perfect
Me: Well I'm going to shower and then I can cook dinner if you want
Hope: Fine with me I'm going to sit on the porch
Me: Okay

I went upstairs and showered. I changed into sweat and my red flannel. I walked back down stairs and started dinner. Hope walked in and went to shower. I was making spaghetti and garlic bread with red sauce. I finished setting the table and took the bread out of the oven. Hope came down and looked at me.

Hope: It smells great but um Baby Horse
Me: Yeah?
Hope: What happened to your shirt?
Me: Oh well it was hot and u didn't want to get anything on it.

I grabbed my shirt and sat down at the table. Hope and I ate and talked about training earlier. We finished dinner and I told Hope I was going to face time Brad and the go to bed. I went to my room and called Brad.

Brad: Hey baby
Me: Hey how's school?
Brad: boring without you but how's Seattle?
Me: it's great and guess what
Brad: What?
Me: I'm going to be on the U-20 national team
Brad: Really. That's great I'm so proud of you
Me: Thanks, how's football been
Brad: they are tough but good we have been working on new plays, so with you being on the national team are you going to busy during the summer?
Me: yeah but i don't leave until after cheer camp
Brad: then we will have a little time

Hope then walked in said something and walked out
Hope: Im going to bed you should be soon

Brad: Dang that's Hope Solo? Shoe looks scary
Me: She's not that bad, I know she looks like it but she is really nice
Brad: Well I'll let you go to be goodnight baby I love you
Me: Okay goodnight babe I love you too.

After I hung up I brushed my teeth and then went to bed.
