KARLSTEN POV
It's been three years since we started the search for my Chosen. I still remember the last place in Poland where we got their last track.
(FLASHBACK --- one year ago)
I flew with Ava, Andrew and Allan in southern Poland when we traced some information regarding Ette and Margo.
"Hotel Pod Roza" Ava read the hotel's name.
"Are you sure we come to the right place?" I clarified.
"Yes Elder we are positive and Ava can envision it once we entered." Allan verified.
"Let's get in I'll handle the human while you -- Allan and Andrew do the cameras Ava, come with me." I instructed them.
Once we are inside we proceed to the reception area and immediately Ava touched the desk.
"Welcome to Hotel Pod Roza what can I help you with?" The human greeted kindly.
"Hi, I heard this place is great I want to check in with my fiancé do you have any rooms available?" I gave the signal to Ava.
The human nodded and was too engrossed typing on the screen while Ava do her task. Since we are in the human world we are on first name basis.
"Excuse me, Sir I found a room for you and your fiancé and the rate is--" The human informed us.
"Can we take room 526 those numbers are actually my lucky numbers." Ava cut him off.
"I will see if the room is available one minute." The human once again glued himself on the keyboard.
"Was that the room they were checked in?" I pulled Ava to the side.
"Yes the twins are very precise they were here last July 5." Ava confirmed.
"Madam I am sorry for the inconvenience but the room is currently occupied. If you want we can get you the adjacent room and---" The human stopped speaking.
"You will book us that room and call whoever the guest is to transfer because of maintenance." I had enough of waiting so I compelled him.
My patience is so thin that I can kill anyone in seconds if they get in my way. Few minutes Iater the human hand us the key card after his endless talking on the phone.
"Enjoy your stay! Is there anything else I can assist you with?" He asked further.
"Give me the whole guest list and all the videos of the surveillance camera in every part of this hotel dated July 5, 2015 then delivered it an hour to our room." I added on his task.
I'm done playing nice to humans since I am not here for them. If Ette would've been with me it would be different but for now I'll stay this way.
After he left I made sure the twins followed him secretly and we head to the room number. As soon as we entered it Ava stayed silent I know she is working on every detail that will help her visualize everything.
"Elder, I saw Ette's transformation started in this room." She spoke after a moment.
"Was there anything else you see besides that?" I inquired more.
"Yes, there's one certain place Ette always went to." She peeked by the window.
"What and where exactly was it?" I replied with anxiety.
"A convenient store and.... Gasoline station." She enumerated slowly.
"Where exactly could it be? Please try to locate anything that can help us follow their tracks." I sounded excited this time.
"The gasoline station name is... LUKOIL it's beside the small convenient store." She stated and I wrote every detail down.
"Thanks so much for the information Ava I can see you're exhausted so take some bags so you'll gain your strength back. I will give you heads up when the twins arrived." I advised her.
Being an Apprentice they can't handle too much use of their abilities. The more they used it their energy easy drain and if misused they could die.
"Thank you Elder Karlsten." She bowed in return and feed herself.
I stayed up and Google the name that Ava mentioned earlier. I didn't notice the hour passed by when somebody knocked in the room.
"Sir, here are the files you expected to be delivered." The front officer hand me some papers.
I saw the twin hiding beside the elevator wall and they gave me a nod. That means the human got all my instructions clearly.
"You may go." I closed the door with no care.
Since his job is done and I got what we wanted I hurriedly went to the couch and scanned the guest lists while the twins upload the video files in my laptop.
"Nowak... Piotrowski... Jasinski... Kaczmarek... DAMN THESE NAMES!" I almost cripple it until one particular name hits me.
"Elder, the videos are ready to play we can start as soon as you're ready." Allan notified me.
I placed everything down and focused on the video. We got the plate number of the rented car they used the same day after gathering all the facts we checked out the same day at the hotel. First stop was gasoline then to the car rentals we did the same procedure with the two store manager and immediately got the information.
"Elder, they went to the forest somewhere in eastern part, the name is... Belovezhskaya Forest. I'm not sure how far that is from here but we can search it or ask the employee now our way." Ava emphasized the last two words.
Soon as we approached the human from the Gasoline station we left. The human informed us that the forest is one of the largest surviving areas of primeval mixed forest. It's located near the headwaters of the Narev and Lesnaya rivers, tributaries of the Bug. The twins was first to get the trail of Ette while Ava and I stay close behind.
"Elder Karlsten, we found a burned cabin few miles from here." Andrew announced after few minutes of being gone.
"Very well Ava will you still be able to predict something?" I knitted my eyebrows.
"Yes Elder as long as there still ashes left I can still detect the recent events." She claimed with confidence.
After some minutes we reached the cabin and Ava was able to verify the place. Ette and Margo together with Morgan stayed there longer than a year.
(END OF FLASHBACK)
Since then we never find anymore tracks about them it's like they disappeared in the thin air. We are still clueless not even Ava can foresee them even our best Tracker, Andrew and Allan can't determine their location.
Master on the other hand made his own investigation on every vampire clan but he got nothing. He hired different Trackers and Assassins on different part of the world to search for her daughter. However the Councils decision is a mandatory for Ette and Margo including Morgan. We need to provide evidences that Ette is innocent for the past crimes involving humans.
Until now I'm full of regrets I blamed myself for not telling Ette sooner. If only I was honest none of this would've happen. Maybe I could've helped her understand everything.
