MINETTE POV
I'm shocked as hell and it will be the lifetime statement for me. It made me more furious seeing the people I hate are in the same plane that I'm not fond of meeting. My heart is filled with hatred from the day they pretended that's why none of them should know I remember everything. I won't allow them to fool me it's my turn.
"Let.Me.Go." I spoke after some minutes.
"If you promise to keep calm I will kitten." He haggled.
"Stop calling me different names I'm Mina not Ette or some animal!" I wiggled on his hold.
This is the first time I noticed Karlsten's appearance he got a shoulder length hair and growing beard. His powerful aura was not as strong as before and his muscular built is long gone. It's like he lost more of his weights but still heavenly handsome as ever.
"As you wish Mina." His gripped loosen up finally.
I kept a scowl face but deep inside I'm secretly dying to know what happened to him. For the rest of the flight I was in silence until we landed and the thought of seeing my mother again terrifies me.
"We're here Elder." The human cabin crew announced.
I grabbed all the shopping bags and head towards the service car quietly. I realized we're in Berlin when in fact the Barren is in Munich. I don't know why we landed here if I ask or react they will ponder. Maybe the Council live here since I'm clueless about their whereabouts.
"How long will it take to the Council?" I saw both of them stiffen.
"Soon." He shortly response.
Now that I can remember everything Ava will definitely know I'm scheming I need to build my shield and do my revenge plan secretly. I just hope she didn't saw it earlier when she hugged me.
"Where is the Council located at exactly?" I impatiently asked.
"It's near Velten." Karl avoided my eye contact.
If I'm not mistaken it will only take us twenty five minutes to get there. So why did we take the long route if we can use the short one? I Google the direction and I was right there's something not quite right on this trip.
"According to Google maps taking A111 will lead us directly to the place. It's less travel time than this lane why don't you take L172 instead of?" I asked curiously.
"We need to drop Ava and we can go to the Council." Karl convinced me.
"Fine." I grumbled under breath.
Since it's in human world we don't have any choice but travel this damn road. I studied them for a minute both of them are sitting upfront while I'm behind the back. I hate how they are having this eye conversation and it irks me to see it. I tuned out myself to the book I'm reading until I heard them talking again.
"Did the twins arrive already? I was expecting their call when we landed." Karl asked Ava.
"Yes they called me saying the area is clear now." Ava takes a deep breath.
Taking note of their conversations mentally I can only think of Ava's brothers. I haven't seen them since the arcade day it seems I have a lot of catching up to do with everyone. Fifteen minutes passed and I saw a familiar place, our old town and our old house. I remember we sold this place before does it means Ava owed the place now.
"Let's get inside the house." Karl broke my trance.
"Do I have to? It's not like we will stay there for long." I acted uninterested.
"The Council are expecting your arrival tomorrow plus it's already 23:16. We will stay here for a while if that's fine by you." Ava checked the time.
"We are vampires and don't usually sleep everyday." I insisted.
"Ava is right. I bet you are exhausted too just like us and wants to feed I haven't got a proper one after I left your Barren." Karl gave me a realization.
'I hate when he stands up for Ava most of the time.' My inner voice barge in.
"I will make a few calls and I'll join afterwards." I motioned my hand and let them walked ahead.
I fetch my phone in my pocket and called Louise about my location since she needs to tell my clients. I couldn't contact Cedrik anymore since my link has boundaries then I thought of Margo she didn't know I got all my memories back. I just decided to text her and mislead the information at this moment I can't trust her anymore she betrayed me too.
"ETTE!! I really can't believe it's you!!" Allan called out my name while Andrew was in tow.
"I'm Mina didn't the Elder told you about it?" I pretended not knowing them.
"I... uhmm... we are just excited to see you after three years. You don't know how long we tried searching for you." Andrew smiled.
"So I heard do you mind letting me through I want to take these bags inside." I raised an eyebrow since they are blocking my way.
"Yeah, sure come on we will help you." They both grabbed my bags before I can react.
Entering our old house is like watching a suspense movie. Although the furniture and decorations have changed still it feels like home for me. To be honest, I miss this place it brings all the memories I had with my mom. Speaking of her, I wonder how she is after I left is she still working? Is she mad at me for leaving her? Those questions made me somehow nervous I just wish I can see her after all these years she is the only person I dearly missed. I keep scanning the interior until my eyes landed on the same familiar eyes I'm longing to see.
"Mom." I blurted out.
"Ette, my daughter! I have missed you so much!" She has tears running down her cheeks.
I couldn't control my emotions anymore and ran to her arms like a lost child careful not break her bones. I missed her hugs, the warm of her touch and her voice that always soothes me. It seems not only Karlsten lost weight since I left because I can feel my mom's skinny bones now.
"I missed you too Mom. I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... forgive me..." I chanted.
"Shhh... it's okay. I am the one who should ask for your forgiveness." She patted my back.
"I'm such a horrible daughter it's my fault I promised never to leave you but---" My voice keeps cracking.
"I understand why you did it let's forget it and start all over again okay." She cupped my face.
We're both hugging each other when somebody clears a throat. Damn I'm screwed!
