Chapter 22 - The Raging Vampire

MINETTE POV

I woke up with a sound of birds chirping outside the window it's the first time I heard them again after three years. Yes I got a Company in the human world but I'd rather stay in my Barren than buy a house I'm not comfy with although I have a penthouse but I rarely stay there. Another thing I felt the Barren is safer since I got all the necessary barriers around it that way the Hunters will have hard time finding me.

"Ette! I know you're awake so open the door sweetie!" My mom called out.

I was silent for a while as I process about what happened yesterday. We were in the plane and I remember all the past events in my life and I bonded with my Mom again.

"One second Mom!" I swiftly get off the bed.

"I thought I'll wait forever outside it's already eight in the morning and I brought you breakfast." She was carrying a tray.

"Mom I'm not really hungry but I would be glad to eat human food once again." I didn't want to upset her so I accept it.

"I forgot you're not fully human now and offering you blood would have been better." Her voice sound deflated and sad.

"It's fine Mom although very tempting but I don't want you to see that side of me. For now, I will be the daughter you used to make breakfast for and scolded when I'm late every meals." I gave a smile and tried to cheer her up.

"Are you sure? I mean it's not that I'm complaining but you're a New born. Can you have food in your system?" She asked with full confusion.

"Yes I still can and I've done it before so don't worry Mom." I assured her.

I grabbed her special muffins she used to bake since I was a kid it's bacon, cheese and a sunny side up egg. It was actually taste the same and to my amazement I finished it in five minutes. Mom was watching me intently as I keep savouring the taste. Damn I didn't know it's been that long since I last tasted it.

"Guess you can live with human food based on how much you've eaten." Mom teased me.

"Thanks Mom." I placed the empty tray to the side.

"Maybe you have the same advantage like your Chosen Karlsten." Mom commented.

I smiled mentally remembering the day she asked him for dinner then an image of Cedrik smiling at me.

"Mom, I have a Chosen named Cedrik." I told her.

"It's impossible to have two unless you were drugged by something or this Cedrik guy you mentioned was." Mom disagreed.

"Enough of them I wanna talk and spend time with you." I will have that topic for later.

"Right I really missed you sweetie please don't leave us again." She held my cheek.

"I won't but at some point I need to go back in Finland I have a company there and a Barren to attend to but that's for later. Right now I have a lot of things to talk about with you while I'm gone." I placed my hand on her shoulder.

"Sure ask away sweetie." Mom gave me the signal.

"How come you didn't freak out with the new... me?" I wondered.

"Because it's bound to happen I was just too focus on your human side back then to realize it. Nevertheless, you're still my daughter vampire or not." She stated with pure love and pride.

"I love you Mom and thank you. We have a lot of catching up to do starting from your health. I could almost feel your bones when I touch you aren't you not eating properly? Are you sick?" I let the words slip.

"When you went missing I barely concentrate on my job and my health acted up. My blood pressure drops low and my stress level went higher I'm almost close of having anorexia. It was your father's idea to take me to the Barren and somehow he managed to help me." Mom detailed everything.

"I'm sorry for causing you so much pain I was so selfish and I didn't think how it will affect you. But on the light side you sure did make the best out of it your knowledge about vampires has definitely increased." I grabbed her hand.

"We didn't know it will lead to this and I'm also at fault. I was more frightened how you will react about your father's identity and you won't believe it summing it up with your hatred towards him when he left us." Her tears are now forming.

"Tell me honestly Mom did he in any way compel you to forget him so he can retain his position and power?" I bluntly stated while holding my temper.

"Listen carefully it's about time you should know everything." Mom pats the chair beside her.

I sat down and attend to every detail from the Council's options to spare my life in exchange of her memory for the secrecy of the Clan up. We were already sobbing when the part of seeing my father again to warn us most especially me.

"You're implying it wasn't the position and the power that he made him leaves?" I started to digest all her information.

"No your father even asked the Council to have all my memories back as a matter of fact he confessed to me that he never stops watching us and he is protecting us without our own knowledge." She informed me with conviction.

Just then I remember all the weird feelings I felt the time when somebody was watching me.

"The two men who help us moved out belong to him?" I wanted to confirm my suspicions.

"Yes, it was your father's men he was also the one who compelled the Board to have me transferred to Munich." Mom nodded in agreement.

"When did you find out about him I mean being a vampire?" I keep my tone calmed.

"I knew about him after he cured me back in Russia. He told me it wasn't a medicine that cured me it was his blood." Mom gave out a loving sigh.

How could I let this happen? The man who I thought left us and loves my mom dearly is now in the Dungeon and a prisoner! Mom will be devastated if I told her what I have done to him.

"You mentioned he convinced the Council to restore your memories why would he come back if you both agreed to raise me and when did this happen?" I asked while thinking deeply.

"About two months prior to leaving this town he approached me that's the time I found out the Hunters are after you." Mom information rattled me.

"I was human back then with no knowledge with being a vampire why would they be after me?" I balled my fist this time.

"Because they believed you will shut down your humanity when you started showing your vampire side. The fact they are convinced you're behind the killings was enough for them but that is--" She didn't finish.

"THAT IS PLAIN RIDICULOUS!! I DONT EVEN KNOW MY OWN IDENTITY BACK THEN HOW COULD THEY ACCUSSED ME!!" I suddenly bolted out from my seat.

"Calm down!" Mom tried cooling me off.

"NO!!" I yelled furiously.

In minutes the surroundings are starting to shake and all I can think of is killing all the Hunters and everyone that deserves my revenge.
