MINETTE POV
The negotiations I had with my so called "Chosen" contemplate with my brain. At the back of my mind I can feel I can trust them but if it's really true that my memory was wiped out then I have no choice but accept the deal. Margo will be biased about it so I went to a place that I'm sure will help me.
"HOLY!! JESUS!! YOU SCARED ME!!" She touched her heart.
If I didn't know her any better I already bit her neck since her I can hear the heart pumping like crazy. Louise is not only my secretary but we became closer. At the office we are strictly professional but outside she can call me by my name.
"I could actually scare you if I want too." I came towards her in very intimidating manner.
"DAMN, CAN YOU QUIT DOING THAT TO ME?!" She cursed that is not usual for her.
"RELAX! I'm just going to sit on your bed aren't you used to my presence yet?" I retaliate giggling.
"Fine so what does my BOSS doing in my room as early as eight?" Louise finally calmed herself.
I might have shut down my humanity but it doesn't mean I will just kill without any reason. I only do that with Hunters since their existence irks me I've learned how to control it on my own since Margo never mentioned this to me. Cedrik on the other hand can detect my emotions but doesn't know I can shield it if I want too.
"There is something I wanna confide with you and your opinion is much appreciated." I crossed my leg.
"Is this all about the other business?" She stretched the two words. Just then I remember the note on my desk.
"Yes." I sighed while she digs to her candies.
"Seriously, you will ask a human for that kind of stuff? What does my expertise can do that you need me for?" She placed a hand on her hips.
"First, stop munching that stupid gummy bears it's so annoying second, you're the only human I know that have knowledge about us. Now sit and I'll tell you before I lose my temper." I patted her bed beside me.
"Always the tyrannical one." She complains but followed me nonetheless.
"Stop whining or you'll not get a raise this week." I pointed a finger on her.
Her face formed like a fat fish when she heard the raise and sat down immediately. This is the first time I console with her instead of Margo I know I should've asked her but Morgan's word stuck in my head continuously. Adding up Margo's body language during the confrontations brings me here then there is Cedrik who is giving me some space.
"I really can't believe you're asking me this I'm not a vampire but I felt like I knew every detail." She spoke after listening.
"I know what you're trying to do Louise and I told you I'll think about your proposition." I noticed she made an "o" face.
"Well you know there's no harm in trying anyway let's go back to your heart problems. What does it really bother you the negotiation or getting your memories back?" She changed the subject.
"Both." I confessed in very stressful sigh.
"From the way I see it you're a powerful vampire Mina and you had these abilities that can detect any unusual behaviour or things used that as your guide. If you consider my point of view I think its better you agree with this vampire. It's a win-win situation for you since you lost the memories with them and you wanted to know the betrayal that Margo has mentioned to you." She brilliantly answers.
"I actually thought of that but what about Cedrik? I'm afraid I don't want to know the outcome of this decision." I admitted.
"Have you forgotten in our world you are the most fearless and most assertive person but I don't see that Mina Johansen right now. All I see is a hopeless and a lost cause human, if you really want to know the truth then you need to face it with fierce." She advised me.
"I'm just confused because of this sudden revelation I don't even know who to choose." I gave out a deep sigh.
"Accept the prisoner's deal and then take it from there like you told me there's one chosen for every vampire so maybe if you get your memories back you will find the right answers." Lou gave her smart opinion.
"Thanks Lou. By the way where was the contract to the client yesterday?" I recalled the meeting.
"I brought it home since you left the office in a hurry. You haven't signed it and I know you will be asking me here." She handed me the contract.
"You're a life saver Lou!" I hugged her careful not to break her bones.
"No, I'm not if I am I would've save my sister." She suddenly has tears in her eyes.
I would be hypocrite if I don't feel her sorrow --- it's the thing I don't understand being a vampire. Our emotion and humanity are totally out the moment we are turned but then Cedrik bring it back.
"Lou, to be honest I don't wanna see you like this and you helped me in many ways so in return I will do the same favour. What I mean is I'll see what options I can do for your sister you just have to trust me. I promise you will never lose her." I held her hands.
"You know for a vampire your hands are warm and you never once you showed me your cold-blooded side well once when I caught you. I'm so amazed how you can be this caring and kind to me." She sniffed.
"Come to think of it why didn't you freak out back then?" I had a small flashback.
"I was a fan of Twilight that's my guilty pleasure. I was imagining it will be very cool if there are really real vampires and werewolves. I actually have the book from one up to the recent edition, watched the movies and collected all the posters I can get." She started getting all her collections.
"You're really a crazy fanatic." I agreed.
(A GLIMPSE OF IMAGES)
The room is dark but it's painted with blue and white and there was a silhouette of a guy standing on the bookshelf but I couldn't see the face. He sat on the bed while reading the same book I was about to see his face again when I heard a scream.
(END OF IMAGES)
"AHHHHHH!!" Lou is almost falling from the window sill.
"Got yah!" I caught her on time. Thanks to my fast reflexes.
"Thanks Mina." She was holding me like a gecko.
"No problem just next time watch were you're stepping on." I reminded her.
"Are you sure you're a real vampire?" She retorted smiling.
"I have more things to prove." I sprouted my fangs out.
"I saw that a lot of times its getting boring." She puffed an air.
"Stand there and I'm sure what I'm about to do will blow your mind." I can feel her excitement.
I swirled my hand and created a miniature tornado in my palm while my other palm has flame then end my small show by closing my palms.
"Wow! That is sooo amaziiingggg." She dragged the words.
"You only witness two elements but I do have four including earth and water." I went back on her bed.
"How old are you exactly and are all the details at Twilight movies and books are factual?" She inquired.
"Biologically, I'm 24 but in vampire world I'm a new born three years old. With other vampire's age it's true we can live for eternity and slowly aged." I confirmed.
"That's really interesting and would love to know more but I need to go to hospital wanna come and meet my sister?" She sling her clutch bag on her shoulder.
"Of course! Let's go!" I grabbed her hand and we teleported.
