"You want me to what?"

"Please, Patrick. We can end all this madness sooner if we have more people. You know tons of people, plus, you're really nice and people can't say no to you."

"Rachael, I thought we already discussed that we don't want you finding Kenya."

"And I thought I already told you that I don't care and I'm going to find her. Now are you going to help me or not?"

Patrick frowned at his girlfriend's request.

"Patrick, please," She begged, bringing her hand up and caressing his cheek, her hand caked with her own blood. It didn't phase the vampire, though, for he already had his fix for the night. "I need to do this, but I can't do it without your help."

He brought his hand up and wrapped his fingers around hers, sighing in defeat. "Fine. Who do you want me to recruit?"

The corner of the witch's lips curled up into a smile.

Rachael rode fast in her car, racing to get to the pack house, eager to warn the wolves of the coming danger. She ran through a few stoplights, and quickly passed by the slower vehicles. She took a turn into a dirt road that led to the bayou, but quickly came to a halt. Two large trucks blocked the road. Rachael put her car in reverse, but when she looked in the rearview mirror, another car pulled up behind her.

A knock came on the passenger window, and Rachael turned her head to see a seemingly middle-aged man peering in. He opened the car door before Rachael had the chance to lock it and climbed inside. He buttoned the top of his very expensive suit, and took in a deep breath. Rachael was trapped, because when the man entered the vehicle, he closed the door behind him.

He glanced over at her, observed her every feature, and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rachael."

"Um...who are you and what are you doing in my car?"

"You're very straightforward, I admire that." He smiled. "I am Brutus, Kenya's father."

Rachael's grip on the steering wheel grew tighter, causing her knuckles to turn white. She forced a smile on her face and replied, "Nice to meet you, Brutus. How are you doing today?"

"Let's skip the act, shall we? I'm here to warn you. Stay away from my daughter or else."

"Or else what?" The witch tested.

Brutus chuckled at her. "You're a powerful witch, last I heard. It be a shame to kill you."

"Look, with all due respect, Brutus, I'm the kind of person who doesn't take orders too kindly. So if you would, please get out of my car." She reached over and pulled the handle, pushing the door out. "I recommend you do so before I get angry. You don't want to deal with me when I'm angry."

"Your dark magic has no affect on me." He closed the door once more and the witch heaved a sigh. "My daughter and I have ripped people like you to shreds."

"I know. I saw. She nearly killed my entire old coven. Speaking of my coven, how's Brendon doing? I've heard your lured him to assist you in whatever you're planning to do."

"Lured him? No. I hate witches. I'd rather see the Salem trials happen all over again before I work with one, but he was willing to do anything just so he could have you."

The witch's eyes widened a bit. "Just so he could have me? Wait, you did not just make me a pawn in your little game. I swear..."

"Honestly, I want nothing to do with you-"
