"That's not too far from here," Arcadian conveyed as he, Jack, and I gazed at a map, "And you're sure it's there?"

"Yes, I'm certain. I remember leaving it there, and I also had a vision about it being in this house." I pushed my hair out of my face, staring up at Arcadian. "We can make it tonight, then I'll be on my way home."

"Anna said you still need rest," Jack pointed out, "Whatever happened to you weakened you, plus you haven't been sleeping. I say we go tomorrow and we'll escort you to your pack afterwards."

"I'll be fine," I argued, "I've been through worse. I need to get to the medallion before our father does."

"Kenya, if we come across our father, you won't be much use if you pass out again. You're going to rest and we'll leave in the morning." I hated being told what to do. And here Jack was, trying to control me. He barely knew me.

"Jack, I told you, I'm fine. We can make it there before he does, plus you all will be there," I tried to convince them, but they weren't having it, "Guys, I'm serious, we're doing this tonight."

"Kenya, please reconsider," Jack pled.

"No," I stated sternly, closing the map, "I'm going. And I hope you'll all come with me." I started walking towards the cars they'd acquired for me. I glanced over my shoulder to check if they were following me or not, and unfortunately, they stayed in place. I nodded my head, opened the car door and started driving off.

I pulled the car over to the side of the road and put it in park, looking in the rearview mirror at the beaten down house that once used to be so lively, so vibrant.

"Of all places, you had to hide it here?" I muttered to myself, "Just perfect." I got out of the vehicle and walked around the hood.

"In and out, easy," I told myself, but I couldn't shake the bad feeling forming in the pit of my stomach. I was already here, and there was no going back.

Just as I was about to make my trek to the house, the sounds of beating hearts stole my attention. I trailed around the house, eventually coming to the woods in the backyard, where I stood in place, staring at the woods.

"Wow," I clenched my jaw, turning my head to face the bastard himself.

"Your senses are truly amazing," Brendon smiled as he approached me, "But incredibly and dangerously easy to fool."

"How did you find me?" I asked, getting in a defensive position. I didn't want to take a chance underestimating him.

"I never lost you, Kenya. After you escaped, your mind was still open to me. I could read your thoughts, and by doing so, figured out where you've been hiding."

"Don't do this, Brendon. My father is just using you," I pleaded with him. I came here to stop my father, but I was too foolish. I stepped forward, and before I could even get near him, Brendon put his hand out and I instantly froze. I tried to move my legs, but my body was Brendon's to control. He lifted two fingers, twisted them, and my lungs started losing all the oxygen they possessed. It felt as if I was drowning, or being sucked dry of all the air. I grasped my throat.

Brendon smiled, pleased with his little trick, then unbound his fingers, oxygen instantly returning to me. "I really am happy that worked." He laughed, lifting a single finger and spinning it around. My body followed the same action. Around and around I went, feeling the dizziness take over shortly and cause me to fall to my knees.

Brendon walked to me and I gazed up at him. "What the hell did you do to me?" I demanded to know. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small doll. It was fully dressed, and had two full locks of my hair. One of my wolf's and the other of my human hair.
