I opened my eyes to see a world of white. I spun around to see the exact same thing. Last thing I remembered was talking to Patrick, and then blacking out.

I started walking around, yelling if anyone was there, but I received no response. As I continued my walk, something brown passed by me in a blur. I squinted my eyes, wondering if I was just going crazy, but then I heard a barking noise.

I twirled, and sitting behind me was the familiar she-wolf, just staring at me. The wolf pointed her head and I followed her gaze to see an all black door. I started towards it, I know I sound ridiculous for saying this, but the door was calling to me. Literally.

I could hear a voice coming from the door. I reached out to open it, when suddenly I was jerked away from it. I turned my head to see a not-so-happy Kenya staring at me.

"What are you doing?" She asked, releasing me.

"I-I..." I stammered, confused to see her there, "How are you-"

"This is my subconscious," She conveyed as she crossed her arms over her chest, "Question is, why are you here?"

"I don't know, I just am." I peeked back over my shoulder, giving my attention back to the door. "What's in there?"

"Nothing of your concern." Kenya coldly stated, "You need to leave."

She started to walk away, but I chased after her, grabbing her by the arm. "I'm not going anywhere until you tell me where you are and what happened to you." I looked down at her skin to see scars and a few fading bruises. Kenya noticed, then ripped her arm away from me, attempting to cover it with her free limb. "Kenya, who did that to you?"

My friend clenched her jaw, obviously holding back, "It's nothing. You need to leave." It was in that moment that I really became sick and tired of her shit. The constant secrets that seemed to keep building, the never-ending lies, and everything else she wasn't telling me.

"No, I'm not leaving." She stared at me in shock. "We're supposed to be friends, Kenya, best friends at that, but how can we be best friends when I know nothing about you? You disappeared, fell right off the face of the planet. Were you kidnapped? Or did you just run away from your problems, like everyone seems to be doing?"

"I didn't run," She explained.

"And you expect me to believe that? How can I? You never even told me that you're a Lycan." That single word stunned Kenya, causing her to swallow and step back. "Were you ever going to tell me? Or tell me anything about you, for that matter?"

"Rachael, I-I wanted to tell you," She ran her hands through her hair, "I just...couldn't."

"Then tell me now," I demanded, "I don't care what it is, I just want to know something, Kenya. Anything." I'd never seen Kenya so frayed, she was fighting with herself. "Kenya!"

"I'm a monster, Rachael. Alright?" She screamed, tears began running from her face, "I'm a monster. I've lived for too long, and I've seen so much pain and death. I've killed people, destroyed lives, and I hate myself for it. My past was dark and I never wanted anyone to know about it. That's why I never told you." She sniffed then wiped her face. "I thought that if I told you, you'd hate me."

"Kenya, I understand what it's like to have a darkness inside of you. Trust me."

"No you don't. It's completely different," She shook her head, "You never wanted to hurt anyone. I did and loved doing it, for the most part at least. I loved having blood on my hands, and taking lives...it's what I lived for." She seethed in anger.

"Hey," I stopped her and grabbed her by the shoulders, "The past is the past, alright? That's why there's a present and a future, so we can move on. And you've changed, whether you think so or not. I don't care what you say, you're not a monster. You may have been at one time, but so have I. We have more in common than we're leading on. You just have to let me in."
