"It's been two weeks and they've practically terrorized every faction in this city!" Gerard Way screamed as he banged his fists on the pack alpha's desk, causing the entire room of people to jump. "Vampires are dying, your own people are being pushed around, and the humans are becoming restless as they watch the city's prosperity diminish! The witches are even getting on my last nerves."

"Gerard, I assure you that we are doing as much as we can, but-" Anthony started, only to be cut off by the clan leader again.

"Bullshit. You don't do anything but sit here and watch as we lose this dual fronted war." Way turned his back coldly and looked outside the window to the bayou.

Pete stepped up and clenched his fists as he said, "Anthony, we aren't just fighting for our territories here, we're fighting for our lives too." The small gathered crowd agreed in murmurs and whispers.

"Well what do you want us to do?" He growled in anger.

"Anything would be nice, Anthony," Gerard replied, looking back over his shoulder, "If you don't do something about Brutus and Kenya..." By 'do something' he meant kill, "...then we will."

"You're bluffing," Bruno sneered, displeased with the threat proposed against his mate.

Anthony rose from his chair and walked to Gerard. "You and your clan of assholes are just as defenseless as we are, otherwise you would have tried to attack without consulting me." He grabbed Gerard by the collar and pulled him close. "And for the record, we aren't just sitting around daydreaming. We're out there protecting what we have left while looking for a way to destroy the link between Kenya and that medallion." He released Gerard and suddenly the vampire's phone began to ring. He glared at Anthony, but answered it after excusing himself.

"I bet there isn't even a way to sever the connection," Patrick spoke up, "You all are just too afraid to do what's necessary."

Bruno charged at Patrick and punched him in the jaw. "Shut up or I'll rip out your tongue," He threatened.

"Do it," Patrick taunted, "Lose an ally. It won't matter, we'll all eventually die. And it's all because of your serial killer mate." Bruno went to fulfill his promise but was stopped by Rachael holding out her hand. She, along with Brendon, entered.

"If we tear each other apart, we'll lose this war before it's even truly begun." Rachael dropped her hand and Bruno was freed.

"We've figured out a plan," Brendon announced, "There may be a way to cut the connection, but we need to work together in order to be successful." Every vampire and werewolf present nodded their heads in understanding, including the two opposing men. Brendon looked to Rachael to elucidate on what he said.

"The trade-off for Kenya's new strength is her emotions, humanity, and her love," Rachael began, "After the binding spell Brendon performed, every feeling she had should have been wiped away." Everyone in that room - even the rogues - reminisced on how cold and harsh Kenya quickly became. "But we have reason to believe that it didn't fully work, like Bruno." The witch motioned to him.

"You saw how she was, what's so special about him?" Arcadian asked a few voices lightly chatted and whispered, but quickly died down.

"She hesitated." Bruno recalled in the fight, before Kenya slapped him, she hesitated and seemed to be calmed by him. "The mate bond, it's too strong for the spell."

"It's not enough to break it, but it is enough to set a distraction," Brendon pointed out, running his hand across his jaw in deep thought, "If you can get her to stay calm enough, we'll be able to contain her and reverse the spell. The only thing we need now is the medallion, which Brutus has with him or hidden away at all times. We just need to devise a plan to get all three of them - Kenya, Brutus, and that damn medallion - in the same place."
