Ryan's POV

I woke slowly to the beautiful sound of Yumiri- River flows in you, echoing around the house. It was early, or late either way it was still dark outside. Abi wasn't beside me, but I didn't need to look to know that.

I walked into the lounge and there she was wearing one of my white shirts and white short underwear, her hair was hanging loosely around her shoulders. The chocolate unruly curls, untouched and unstyled, no make up just her...The most flawlessly beautiful woman I had ever seen. I couldn't help but smile when I noticed the seam stretching around her torso to make room for her now obviously swollen stomach.

Abi played the piano almost as faultlessly as she danced, I didn't speak while she played. I just walked over to her and sat down beside her, waiting until she had finished. It had only been a few days since we had found out about the Placenta Previa, we had gone home for a few as to explain it all to our parents.

As soon as she stopped I felt her move closer to me, she rested her head on my shoulder "I love you" she whispered.

"I know baby, I love you too" I reply as I kiss the top of her head.

"I just wanted you to know..." she added with a saddened tone "Just in case..."

"Don't talk like that, Abi everything will be fine. I promise" it was a foolish thing to promise, I know but at the time I honestly believed it would be.

"Ryan, Ryan" I felt someone shake me gently, I lifted my head and rubbed my eyes. Zach and Eddie were standing in front of me with a coffee and what looked to be a sandwich bag "We got you some breakfast" Zach said softly. Shit it was morning.

I took the sandwich out of politeness more than anything, not just because I was hungry, to be honest the thought of food made me feel sick to my stomach "How is she?" I wasn't sure if it was Zach or Eddie asking me.

"No change" I replied, the words stuck in my throat" the doctor said the sedation should be wearing off now, so hopefully she should be awake within the next few hours" I explain, still almost choking on the words. I cough it out gently and reach for my phone, there a couple of missed calls from Stella and a few from my Mom. Her, my dad and my grandfather are traveling over today...to meet their grandchildren.

My head shot round quickly when I heard a slight moan coming from Abi, I watched carefully as her hand gently twitched and her eyes flickered "Abi, baby" I leant over her so she could see I was there when her eyes opened.

"I'll fetch someone" Zach rushed out of the room, followed closely by Eddie.

Abi had woken up in a panic, she pulled on the cannula in her and and the tube in her nose "Shh" I said trying to calm her down "Its okay baby, I'm here" I whispered softly as I kissed her cheek. She seemed to relax as my skint brushed against her face.

"Ryan I'm sorry"

"Welcome back Mrs Tedder, you gave everyone quite a scare, how are you feeling?" The doctor shone a torch in Abi's eyes and took her Blood Pressure.

"A bit sore" There was hardly any sound in Abi's voice "Are the babies okay?"

"They both survived the birth" I was a little shocked when Abi's expression expression changed.

"Hey would it be okay for her to see them?" She looked confused and a little but hurt. I couldn't figure it out at first.

We walked down the corridor, I pushed Abi in a wheelchair the doctor had been to get for us. Abi still didn't say anything, I was starting to worry abit if I was honest.

I stopped at the side of the crib and introduced Abi to our beautiful baby boy, she looked up at me and then looked behind her and saw our daughter "What are you doing?" She looks genuinely confused.

"Introducing you to our babies" What the fuck?!

"No" she started to sob and shake her head frantically "NO take me out of here, why did you bring me here" she was rushing to stand.

"Hey, hey" I said gently "I'll take you back, it's okay baby stay still" I had no idea what had just happened, but I did as Abi wanted and took her back.

The doctor came in while I was helping her back into bed "Do you want to explain to me why you thought that was a good idea?" She was pissed off.

"I thought you'd want to meet them" I reply honestly "Baby what's going on?"

"You tell me?" She replied harshly.

"I think your husband just wanted you to meet your babies" the doctor interupted.

"You don't need to lie to me, I ready know" It felt like the start of a nightmare, either Abi was messing around or she was confused. But deep down I knew something was wrong.

"Know what?" I pushed her for an nswer because to be honest I had no clue what had happened.

"I know our babies didn't make it, I was there I felt the blood" She sniffed. My head turned towards the doctor, who seemed almost as puzzled as I was.

"Abi they're fine, you saw them" I reply.

"No I saw someone's babies, they weren't our babies. Our babies are dead" hearing the words was like a bullet hitting me in the chest "Stop lying to me"

"Baby I'm not lying, our babies are fine I swear" I have no clue what's going on but I can't help noticing the look of concern on the doctors face.

"Mrs Tedder, I can assure you your babies are fine" The doctor smiled at Abi, but she wasn't having any of it.

"STOP LYING" something snapped inside her, I watched helplessly as she unraveled in front of me "I want to go home" she turned and asked me desperately.

"Ab's you can't" Abi got up off the bed and ripped the IV drip out of her hand "Baby what are you doing?" She lost it completely as the room filled with nurses.

"I NEED TO GO HOME, PLEASE RY TAKE ME HOME" tears streamed down her face a she rebelled against the arms surrounding her, I couldn't do anything, I couldn't move or speak. I had been left completely paralysed as I watched my wife tossing and throwing herself around the room like something off the exorcist, fighting against the nurses with all she had.

"Mr Tedder did you want to step outside" I couldn't speak, I just shook my head and watched as he filled a syringe with a clear fluid.

"What's that?" I ask, hoping it's not what I think it is.

"It's a mild sedative" He replied, I heard Abi call out as the doctor approached her with it.

"No...no...NO YOU SON OF A BITCH...NOOOO" as soon as the doctor had injected her I saw Abi looking drowsy. My ability to move finally returned as my instincts to catch her kicked in. I moved one of the nurses out of my way as I moved in to catch Abi, she was peaceful again...what the fuck was that, why did Abi react like this? I laid her back in bed and brought the covers up around her. The nurses had cleared out of the room leaving me and the doctor alone.

"What the hell happened?" I asked and the doctor looked at me remorsefully.

"I'm very sorry Mr Tedder, but I believe you wife has developed a condition called Postpartum Psychosis"

I felt myself stagger backwards "Psychosis...what!?" I couldn't take it in surely he'd got in wrong...right?
