Ryan's POV
I knew it was far too soon for Abi to go back to work, and yet here we were.
Sitting in a bar in Georgia, Abi had decided to go back to Vampire Stories and tomorrow was her first day filming. I had agreed to spend a few days with her before flying out to Europe for 8 weeks with the band. Stella had agreed to accompany Abi so she could watch the children while Abi was working. She had offered to be our live - in Nanny...or should I say Granny. Although it's taken a while to get used to I can't deny the fact it is a pretty perfect situation.
As always Leroy is staying with Abi, and a few other security guys will be staying with Stella. Lex had been dealt with accordingly and waiting trial which I know for a fact made Abi's life a little easier. She seemed much more relaxed now which was great however I stand by my recent comment...its was still far too soon for her to be back at work.
"I can't remember the last time we did this" She smiled as she clinked her wine glass against beer bottle. We had gone out to celebrate our wedding anniversary 2 years of being married. "On our own I mean, no kids and not much security"
"Yeah its nice not being suffocated" I replied trying to read her "You sure you're going to be okay while I'm in Europe...I mean I can put it off a few months if you..."
"Ry, honey" She touched my arm with her left hand, her wedding and engagement rings caught the light, making them glisten "If I don't go back now...I'm scared I never will. It's been amazing spending time with you and the kids but I need to get back to work, I know it's selfish but I need to do something for myself again. And you need to do that too, you need to go and do those gigs or you will lose your credibility as a band"
"I know baby I just worry about you" I reply.
"I know you do, but it's okay" she smiled "I'm in a much better place now"
"Okay, and you know if you need me ill come straight home" I reassure her, Abi nods and then smirks as the melody for Apologize starts up on the karaoke machine "Oh Jeez" I exhale I I look around just in time to see a drunken older guy starting to sing the lyrics. I can't help but laugh "This is ridiculous" I chuckle as he tried his hardest to hit the high notes "Come on let's get out of here" Abi looks curious, but she necks back the last bit of her wine and puts her glass down. She then picks up her purse takes the hand I have reached out and follows me out of the bar. I can see Leroy close behind us as we leave the bar, camera clicks and flashes almost blind us as we walk past all the journalists.
"Where are we going?" Abi giggles as I drag her along, I can hear her stilettos tottering on the sidewalk behind me "Ry?"
"You'll see" I lead her towards a building and open the door, it's to a staircase that leads to the rooftop of an old building.
"Ryan is this legal?" Abi asks and I laugh at her concern.
"Yeah course, why else would I have a key?" I reply and she smiles "We're shooting a music video here tomorrow, for the new single"
"Wow" Abi looked up at the high ceiling of the staircase "Really?"
"Yeah, just wait before you judge" I take a deep breath and open the door out onto the terrace. Abi gasps as she steps out, the view looks out over the lights of Georgia.
There is a small decked area and some shrubs in pots, in the corner there is a table surrounded by candles and white roses "Ryan what is this?" I watch as Abi's face lights up as we near the table. On the table is three small tea-lights and a light blue Tiffany & Co. Box with a white ribbon. There is also a bottle of Moet in ice and a platter of tapas dishes.
"I was trying to relive Barcelona" I half smile and she kisses my cheek.
"It's beautiful thank you" I watch as Abi pours us both a glass of champagne.
We both sit down and she picks up the blue box "What is this?" I shrug playfully and she frowns.
"Open it" I reply and she slips off the white ribbon and opens the box. Her gasp tells me she likes what she sees.
"Oh my god, baby it's gorgeous" She gasps as she lifts the white gold diamond encrusted eternity ring out of the box and slides it on her finger beside her wedding ring and engagement ring "I haven't picked up your present yet" she looks saddened.
"It's fine" I reach out and touch her hand before nodding at Leroy. He pressed play on a small portable cd player and Sons and Daughters by Allman Brown and Liz Lawrence plays.
"Is this...?" She questions and I nod before finishing her sentence.
"The song from Valleys" I knew this was going to be the song from Abi's latest movie, Tony had given me a heads up. It also held a special memory for us too "Okay I am grateful for all of this but why do I get the feeling there is a hidden..."
"I just wanted to do something to make you smile, you've had a hard few months Ab's and I wanted to make you happy" I reply and she exhales with tears in her eyes.
"You don't need to do things to make me happy Ry, you make me happy every day just by being my husband. I love you" she sniffs and I notice a tear forming in the corner of her eye "And Thank you for all of this"
"Hey" I get up quickly and hug her, I never wanted to make her cry "It's okay"
"I'm going to miss you so much" She sniffed before pulling away a little "I'm sorry I'm guessing this wasn't what you planned, to bring me up here and make me cry"
"Not really no" I agreed and Abi giggled as she wiped her eyes. Seeing her smile effortlessly made my heart melt a little "It's good to see you relax, hey do you remember our first proper date?"
"Yeah you took me on a roof top and surprised me with a picnic. If I remember rightly that was the first time we kissed, properly I mean"
"Yeah, I was so nervous it was ridiculous" I admitted and Abi laughed loudly.
"Seriously" she snorted a little which made me laugh too.
"Yeah, I was trying to play it cool" I replied "On the outside I was fine but inside I was a wreck"
"You idiot" she laughed "You had nothing to be worried about, I was already hooked. It was only a matter of time..."
"Yeah but I didn't know that then did I?" I hesitated as I watched her looking at me with that gentle twinkle in her eyes "I didn't know you were going to become my whole world"
