Ryan's POV
I watched as Abi's face twisted with rage, shit she's back...not the Psychosis version, the crazy ass bitch version I fell in love with "Has anybody spoke to them?" Abi snapped and I watched Leroy, Tony and Harry look down at the ground "Well that's just fucking brilliant"
"Baby" I realise this is not a great place for her to kick off, especially seeing as we are still in hospital. Luckily we have moved out of the neonatal unit and are back in Abi's room.
"Pass me your phone, mines dead" Abi held out her hand "Now Ryan " she snapped. I handed it over and watched as she died Nick's number.
"Hello" she answered before Nick had chance to speak "Do you want to tell me why you have taken our daughter to Europe?" I couldn't heat what Nick had said but whatever it was...wow.
"Firstly I have never put our daughter second to anybody, just remember it was your idea for her to go to boarding school. Secondly maybe you want to remember exactly why I am in hospital...I don't care how bad you feel about it, it happened and thirdly I kept my mouth shut because I was pregnant, well guess what Nick I'm not anymore so you can fight me for custody if you want. But remember this, all my secrets have been aired for the whole world to see, I have nothing to hide"
I dread to think what this is about, we all just listen in silence as Abi continues "I can promise you this Nick Carter, if you fuck me over I will lay your shit out for the whole world to see..."
Fuck I sit shaking my head as she continues to talk on the phone, still with the same harsh threatening tone. Tony throws me a glance, he looks concerned. As Abi hangs up she looks up at us "That should tame him for a while" she smiles as she hands my phone back.
"What the hell was that about?" Harry asked the question we didn't want to.
"Nick is threatening me with custody again" Abi looks me straight in the eyes "Him and Lauren are having problems"
"Oh, so he's lashing out" I take a shot at guessing.
"Yeah I think so" Abi suddenly looks concerned.
"What's up baby girl?" Leroy asks.
"I've got a feeling things are going to go public very fast" Abi frowns "This is going to turn into a trainwreck"
"Are you ready for that?" I grab Abi's hand in mine and kiss her knuckles.
"Yeah, you know all my secrets so there is nothing he can say that will hurt me, it's Freya I am worried about"
"Do you think he will do that to Freya?" Tony interrupted "Maybe it's just a threat to make you see things his way"
"Yeah maybe" Abi doesn't look convinced "Either way we need to be prepared what whatever comes from this"
"The press are already waiting outside because of the babies, if Nick does take this feud public then it's going to take more than Leroy to keep them at bay" Harry sighed.
"Yeah she's got a point" I reply "Can we arrange more security?"
"Yeah sure, I'll call Lex and see what we can sort out" Leroy nodded, it's pretty impressive how quickly these guys pull ranks when something threatens Abi "How about you?"
"I'll be fine" I look at Abi who is looking at her phone "Ab's?"
"He knows how fragile and small they are" she looks upset "How can do this to them?"
"Hey it'll be okay" I brush my hand against her face as she looks up at me "There is nothing he can say that is going to ruin what we have okay?"
"Abi you and Ryan just need to concentrate on Jacob and Lillia" Tony spoke softly "Let us take care of the rest, he won't get Freya and he won't get the reaction he's after okay. Baby girl we got this covered"
"Okay" Abi nods at Tony, it isn't long before everyone has left the room.
"We shouldn't be here" Abi frowned "We need to be in in the neonatal unit with the twins, that's who should have our attention right now. They are our priority"
"Yeah and Freya too" I reply gently and she just stares at me.
"It doesn't matter how much of an idiot Nick can be, there is one thing I know for sure...he loves Freya and will always look after her"

"After a hectic few days for the Jenson-Tedder family, Ryan and Abigail have finally announced the arrival of their beatiful twins Jacob Benjamin and Lillia Scarlet Rose...although they are extremely premature a source close to the family has confirmed they are both fighters and are doing extremely well" Abi read aloud from a website "That's not too bad...oh wait hang on, let's look at this one"
Abi read the first few sentences before reading aloud "Nick Carter has taken to Facebook earlier today and lashed out at his Ex wife, just days after she has given birth to her first babies with current husband Ryan Tedder" I raise my eyebrows as Abi reads it out "In his status, Nick has slammed Abi for being selfish and neglectful when it comes to their daughter 13 year old Freya. Nick has said that Abiail is very much an absent parent now she is married to Ryan and that Freya is no longer a priority, he went on to say that his ex - wife has never been a hands on parent and has always put work opportunities before their child" Abi paused for a moment "Wow, get this...I have never felt the need to speak about this before, but now she has another child I think it's only right that someone sticks up for our daughter..."
"What a Dick" I watched as Abi read further down the page "I can't believe he is actually doing this..."
"Let me see" I walked over to Abi and read over her shoulder, as I looked down I saw she was cradling her stomach "Are you in pain?"
"It's just abit sore that's all" Abi frowned.
"I'll call the doctor, he can get you some pain relief" I grabbed the buzzer and Abi took it off me.
"No" She shook her head "I told the doctor I didn't want anything stronger than paracetamol"
"What why would you do that?" Why would she allow herself to be in pain like this "Baby if it helps..."
"It won't" Abi turned her body to look at me "Ryan I...I don't want to take anything stronger incase...incase I can't stop..." Shit, suddenly I was reminded of the complicated past life Abi lived before she got with me. The drugs, her addiction I felt bad for not realising straight away. I should have guessed...
"I'm sorry" I rested my hands on her shoulders and kissed the top of her head, she put her left hand up to mine and our wedding rings made a clinking sound as they touched "I'm proud of you" she looked up at me and smiled.
"I love you" she whispered before turning back to look at the computer screen.
"I love you too" I kissed her head again. She leant back on me and her head rested just under my chin, I sat firm so I could support her small frame.
The more I watched her the more I realised how lucky I was, lucky to have this incredible woman in my life who had just given me two beautiful babies. She survived against the odds and had come back fighting...I found myself making her a silent promise to always be there for her...she is my wife, my best friend and my absolute world.
